Head circumference

Hi!! My baby is 9 months old today and at her appointment her HC was in the 3% the dr was not worried at all and she’s still hitting her curve. Anyone else have anything similar? Just a mom with a lot of anxiety and over thinker!

Go to a different pediatrician for a second professional opinion. It’s allowed

My oldest had a super small head (10% and under) and I was worried too! Doc said as along as it’s growing on its curve, even if it’s a low curve, it’s fine. Has it always been on the lower side or is this the first time?

@Morgan yes always below the 10% it’s still growing on the curve so maybe I’m just paranoid?

I was, but he said she was fine and she is - 3 years now. If you are still concerned you could try a second opinion but someone’s gotta be at the bottom of the curve, haha!

@Morgan thank you so so much! This made me feel so better and to just talk to someone about it! :))

Feel free to message me if you want! I know it’s scary!

Following bc I’m in the same situation same age and al just opposite- my 9mo head is too big! They said it’s the size of a 3 year old 😳. It is big but it doesn’t seem THAT big to me anyway. We are seeing a neurosurgeon to be safe. He saw a helmet specialist first and they said it seemed fine. Anyone have a similar experience?

Hi, small headed adult here.... Like so small that dentist uses pediatric tools. Also when I went for some neurological testing (postpartum with my first) they remeasured my head a couple of times in disbelief and commented that I had the head size of a preteen. Size doesn't necessarily correlate to anything. I'm smarter than most, tested into honors classes at end of first grade (the earliest our district tested) and can join Mensa if I choose to do so. My only head issue is migraines which has nothing to do with head size.
