I second ikea high chair. It’s easy to get baby in/out, easy to clean, and a bonus that it’s cheap. You can buy custom cushions and stuff to jazz it up if you want. I’d get one of the plate/bowl sets that have a sticky suction at the bottom. Helps when baby wants to yeet it across the room. Spoons that are made especially for baby hands to hold. Wipeable bibs with the catch bit at the bottom are better than fabric ones you have to wash. And the wipeable coverall bibs that have arms are good especially for the early days when they can get covered in food. I found having a steamer really helpful to cook all the veggies in. They are pretty cheap to get (think I got mine from B&M!) - you don’t need the fancy baby weaning machines. Lots of little tubs to keep food in - both in the fridge if you batch make anything but also to take out and about with you.
Thank you both very helpful! @Louise is a steamer required or can you just boil the veggies? Random question but in the initial days do I need to cook up the fruit as well? Just worried about bacteria
You can just boil, I just found one of thesestacked steamers useful for doing different veg in one go. I also didn’t need to watch it, set the timer and left it.
Okay thanks 😊
We have the tutti bambini highchair, i got a cheap steamer off amazon (my old one was broken) and a little blender (as again broken). I prefer a steamer as more nutrients remains in the food and I think steamed veg is nicer than boiled. I make extra and freeze in milk storage bags. We do a combo of puree and BLW. I got a recipe book (it's an ellas kitchen one) to give me ideas of combinations to try as I am very much someone who eats the same 4 foods on repeat until I can't eat them anymore.
@Jessica thank you!
Definitely recommend the ikea highchair you can buy off Amazon. I tried another brand but it didn’t suit my baby and was a faff. She sits in this one really well.
