Childcare cost help (UK)

Bit of a long one. Can someone help me work this out as I am clueless.. my child is due to start with a childminder 3 days a week (they charge £70 a day) and we qualify for the 30 hours free childcare and tax free childcare. We plan to stretch the funding over the year. Can someone tell me how much we will pay a month after the funding etc? I have no idea! Thank you

How many hours per day.

Child will be there for 10 hours 8-6pm

Ends up being around 22 hours a week when spread across a year, so you should get at least 2 days funded then pay for the last day. Your childminder might charge for meals and/or consumables for funded days so they won’t be totally free. I can’t imagine it would be more than £400 a month before you get the tax free childcare, so would be £320 that you’d actually pay.

Can you ask the childminder for this info?? When I was looking at nurseries I would ask them what the cost would be with the funding and any extra costs included.

Best to ask as they usually have admin fee and some other stuff added and depends if they are open bank holidays etc.

Have you checked that the childminder will stretch the hours? Not all will.

Ours is £79 per day and we pay £775 a month with 15 hours free childcare. We use the tax free childcare scheme so I top up £625 a month. Hoping it will drop to about £500 a month once we get the extra 15 hours in September!
