Help, am I fertile?

So I’m TTC #2, but I’m still breastfeeding my first. My period came back in February, but every month so far it’s extremely light. I can mostly get by on panty liners. Could this mean I’m still not fertile yet? I worry that my uterine lining isn’t thick enough for an egg to implant or to support a pregnancy. Is there anything I can do to help thicken my uterine lining?

if you’re having a period then that means you’re ovulating! the progesterone released after ovulating would build and thicken your lining to support a pregnancy so i wouldn’t worry about that.

@Samantha okay, thank you! I never had super light periods like this before having my first, and TTC is new to me. It’s more complicated than I realized!

you’re welcome! i’m also still breastfeeding my first (16mo) as well and have super light periods too, it’s definitely weird! especially when things are irregular due to breastfeeding. i’m not actively ttc right now but i believe i ovulated 2 weeks late this cycle and now i think i actually might be pregnant, we will see lol

Asked heal baby care app and sharing in case it helps: "It's great to hear you're planning for your second child! Light periods can sometimes occur while breastfeeding, as hormonal changes can affect your menstrual cycle and fertility. While it's possible that a lighter flow could indicate a thinner uterine lining, it doesn't necessarily mean you aren't fertile. To help support a healthy uterine lining, consider incorporating a balanced diet rich in healthy fats, proteins, and whole grains, as well as staying hydrated. Additionally, maintaining a healthy weight and managing stress can also positively influence your menstrual health. Have you noticed any other changes in your cycle or overall health since your period returned?"
