@Estrella yes it was with the nhs I wasn’t sure if maybe my pain tolerance is just low but everyone I’ve talked to has said it shouldn’t leave a bruise hopefully going to find a way to write a formal complaint
I had something similar with my 12 week scan - baby was uncooperative and kept curling up in to a ball so the sonographer was pressing really quite hard. Like you it was quite painful but I just assumed that was normal (first baby). I had a very slight bruise (I think, it was a while ago) but I understand it sometimes happens as baby is really small and therefore can be difficult to see/measure so they need to press hard in order to see baby.
Your local hospital will have a PALS department you will be able To talk to them about your experience and complain as needed. Should be fully investigated
They shouldn't have bruised you. Mine apologised before hand they had to press harder because I peed before mine (they made me go because i was in tears as they were 40 minutes late & id sat there really needing a wee the entire time) so they struggled to find baby but I wasn't left bruised. They had to use all the probes until 5 minutes in and my bladder was full enough to not press as hard
I had bruises after both my 12 week ultrasounds! Got told it was m as my uterus was still really tucked down in my pelvis. Hurt like a bugger for a few days after.
I had the same today at my 12 weeks ultrasound. Drank loads of water but said I had to empty my bladder because it was to full and just pushed down so hard it hurt. I said just do an internal scan and she didn't instead she just kept hurting me, I couldn't even enjoy the scan because it was so painful and it still hurts now and I've also had 2 previous c-sections , im in so much pain where my scar is.
What!? That is unacceptable, I would not leave the situation as such. I wouldn’t know how to proceed with it but will find a way of being heard and seen. Where was this scan? NHS?
