I have done the NIPT test in both of my pregnancies. The first one I was 31 years old and the probability with the NHS came 1/5000 but with the NIPT test came 1/10000 the lowest probability. Second pregnancy I am 33 years old and I am so glad I did the NIPT test before, it came with the probability 1/10000 because when I did the NHS combination test one of the screenings for Down syndrome came with 1/2500 probability and it got me so worried but my husband reminded me that that’s why we did the NIPT test for peace of mind and is more accurate than the NHS test. When asking the hospital why this probability they said is connected with the age so don’t worry
I was 41 during my pregnancy and had the same rates as you. I didn’t do the test as my chances were low, same as yours. The more you deep dive the more you’re going to worry. My little girl is and was perfectly healthy ❤️
I’m 37 and I had one pregnancy come back as high but had the nipt and all was normal but there was a genetic condition that only an amnio picked up. This pregnancy I came back low risk and no nipt and baby is perfect. All I can say is trust the nhs result. Age is not a sole factor
Generally by 27 weeks markers would’ve been detected on ultrasound of genetic conditions 1/5000 is now the lowest result most trusts will give
I was in the same boat (I was 35/36) but was personally reassured by the screening results. I'm no expert of course, just my experience. I've got bad health anxiety and I found the screening put my mind at ease a lot.
