Ovulation

Ok so you’d think after having a baby I’d be more knowledgeable about how the hell ovulation works but nope! I haven’t been on birth control bc I have hypothyroidism and birth control always have affected my hormones pretty severely. We’ve been relying on tracking my ovulation, not doing it on high ovulation days and always pulling out no matter what. We think he may have not pulled out completely in time this past Friday. Anyway, I track my ovulation using test strips and the pre mom app and it always says “low chance” it’s never not said that. On Friday I had my highest level of LH yet at .68 but again it still says low chance and was predicting ovulation for May 25th-30th. (We were thinking about getting a plan B if ovulation chance was high) I tested today and now my LH is 0.22. Why would it go down prior to ovulation? Wouldn’t it keep getting higher then peak at ovulation then go down? Or was I ovulating then and now it’s going down and I may need to plan for 2 under 2? 🙃 or am I not ovulating at all? Is that even possible? My period was almost 3 weeks late last month so I feel like I’m all out of wack maybe. It’s usually regular. My last period was April 22nd-25th

I wish I could help! I am just getting off my bc to start naturally tracking my cycle and preventing pregnancy so I have no idea. But wanted to send good vibes and that things work out as you desire! 🤍🤍🤍

@Destiney thank you! If I did get pregnant I wouldn’t be mad about it just terrified and would rather avoid it until baby boy is older if possible lol

How far are you post partum? From the research I have done, our hormones may take up to 18 months to regulate, meaning have regular cycles again. Meaning, our cycles may not be as easy to track as before we had our baby

@Maly he is 8.5 months! (9/3/24 bday). I’m thinking that’s the case as well. Just not sure like if I’m ovulating at all at this point because the tests always say low

@Sarah that’s exactly where I am ! If I were to get pregnant, I’d definitely be so happy as I do want more but for sure would be terrified! I wanna wait at least another 4-8 months roughly

@Sarah are you aware of your discharges?

@Maly yes I had a lot extra clear discharge about a week ago (so much I was wearing pantyliners). Does extra discharge mean you’re ovulating?

@Destiney samesies 🩷 my baby boy still doesn’t sleep through the night so I’d like to wait until then or at least until he does more than 3 hour stretches lol

@Sarah that’s one thing I am grateful for, my girl is a pretty good sleeper! I just wanted to try and give my girl my full attention for her first year 🤍

@Sarah it depends on the consistency of the discharge.

Hey there, so a LH surge happens pretty quickly. It's recommended to test twice a day when you're in the fertile window so that you don't miss the peak. It's possible you may have missed the peak
