Hello. See this link. It's something I've thought of doing but haven't taken the steps yet. https://childmindinguk.com/becoming-a-childminder

Thank you appreciate it. We would essentially plan to have a childminder operate from our house rather than become a childminder ourselves. Our current nursery have given us 6 weeks notice of entire closure so we’re panicking hugely atm x

Ah then just go to childcare.co.uk and search for a childminder?

Sorry we are looking more at it from a business point of view in terms of any regulations and permissions required when converting our house into a business nursery like do we need to register our house with ofsted as the childminder would be using part of our house for business purposes. We are aware of how to find a childminder x

No you don't. The childminder is using your house. She is providing you a service, that is the business provided. Doesn't mean your house is now a business. Your just paying for a service, so you just pay her and she is the one who needs to ensure she is adequately registered plus her insurance etc. Your child is always based at your house so that is your home and not a business.

If there will be other kids besides your own then you need to follow what is in the first link I sent, except in your case you wouldn't be the childminder but someone else would be
