If my mothers instinct would have told me not to do daycare then I wouldn’t have, but my instinct told me that it was a good place for my children, we love them and my kids love them!
As far as germs, girl…my kids got sick ALOTTTT after they started going. But it will make their immmne system stronger so it’s okay.
The one I had her in I only like because there’s only 4 other kids and they are girls . But it’s 2 older woman late 50s and they just let them play all day , eat and watch Ms Rachel from a laptop
My daughter will be going to Mother’s Day out 2 days a week starting in August.
@Kayla yea nah my daughter been sick twice and she’s 19 months and not fully vaccinated I don’t give her any of them shots . Idk I want her to go but then again I’m super nervous she has never been away from me the whole 19 months she been on earth
@Danasia yeah I wouldn’t like the daycares that just let them play all day watching from a laptop? Lol that’s not cool. But I totally get the whole germs thing, you know it’s totally up to you cause honestly with daycare it’s gonna be sickness going around. My kids got pink eye, influenza, and strep throat before from it going around. I mean they was good after taking their medicine but I’m just saying that stuff do happen. But what I can say is my kids don’t get sick anymore like they did when they started. It was like the sickness was back to back for a while but now it’s been good, like their immune systems gotten adjusted or something. They just wasn’t used to being around other kids and their germs but that’s what’s going to happen they start going to school. It’s up to you tho! Only you know what’s best for your child!
My daughter started at 18 months and I felt the same way! I did tours at like 5 different daycares, met the teachers , watched how my daughter interacted with the kids & asked a bunch of questions. She did get sick the first week but seems like her immune system stronger now.
Full time daycare since 4 months over here
@Ashlyn my daughter goes to Mother’s Day out and she loves it !!! I love it as well
There is many ways to add social opportunities to a child’s life without enrolling them in daycare. Library, recreation center activities, community center groups, play dates. If you need childcare because you have to work that’s different but if you want to socialize your kids there are definitely better ways.
I did the same thing! Now my 2 year old and 19 month old is daycare 4 days a week! I was nervous at first but I love their daycare and I have a great relationship with the teachers as well. Lots of great communication and I have not had any problems. I only remember when my son was a year old and there was another 1 year old that had biting issues. Biting is normal at their age but the little baby would bite other kids in their class including my son. Obviously they let me know soon as it happen and showed me as well. Thankfully that little baby stopped going to my daycare some time after because he was doing way too much biting with the other kids as well. Other than that, nothing. The reason why I call them teachers is because they don’t jsut “watch” the kids, they have a daily schedule of learning, having fun, activities and I’m able to see all the things they are doing in class. My kids have learned a lot being around kids their age and making friends.
