Weight gain

I’m 18 weeks on Friday, I have a very noticeable bump but am yet to put on hardly any weight, I’m worried that somethings wrong and the baby isn’t growing? I’m naturally slim and probably don’t eat enough 😬

You may be one of the lucky ones who are just all bump, you look totally blooming! If you’re concerned though, give your midwife a call x

Thank you! Hopefully it’ll stay that way 🥰

I’m the same at 12.5 weeks, I have a bump but my weight gain on the scales has been minimal like under a kg. I’m also naturally petite !! I’ve started increasing my portion sizes.

I'm 30 weeks now and other than my bump I haven't gained any extra weight at all ☺️

I had a bump starting by 18 wks and actually lost weight due to morning sickness and nausea stopping me eating xx

Do not worry at all. Your baby will get what kt needs from your body, eating for 2 is a myth I weighed 165 when I got pregnant and delivered a 9lb baby at 166lbs the day I have birth. I was so sick and couldn't ever eat. Juat take your vitamins. And realize , no many women even show yet at 18weeks, so you're definitely growing

I lost and then haven't gained much either. I second what she says but I also listen to my body. Sometimes I am not hungry but I'll feel a hunger pain or just a sense that my baby is then I make sure u eat something although it is hard because I dont want any food. Grab a banana or a granola bar or something if your baby is telling you to.

You look beautiful!!

Ah thank you!! 🥰

I agree with other moms to not worry. I am very tiny too and I was all bump! Wish I would have gained weight on like my arms and legs lol. But didn't happen. As long as baby is growing well and healthy, I wouldn't worry about it.

No worries! I carried the same way. All bump, no weight gain. I started at 125 my first trimester, lost 15lbs because of HG and delivered a healthy baby boy. Then I was back to 125 post partum weight. Side note, I have that same exact dress lol

Dont worry! I am 30 weeks and also all bump (and boobs) but otherwise my body has stayed mostly the same and ive been told shes perfectly healthy and at the exact mesaurements she should be

Ah okay thanks! I’m still waiting for the boobs to grow 🤣

I’m 31 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I’ve lost 7-8 pounds total during my pregnancy. I’ve been worried about it through my whole pregnancy but my doctors all say that the baby is fine and growing normally so I shouldn’t be worried. They told me that she gets the nutrients she needs from the foods I eat before I get the leftover nutrients; my body is taking care of her before it takes care of me. That made me feel a lot better.

With my first I didn't gain any weight until around 26 weeks. I was worried, but at each appointment they said my baby was growing, so they weren't concerned. She was over 9 pounds at birth, so she definitely grew just fine 😛

I love that dress! Or is it a robe? Where did you get that?

Ah thank you! It’s a dress from pretty little thing x

I gained 18 pounds during pregnancy. So don’t feel bad if you’re not gaining a lot of weight

I wouldn’t worry at all, I was the same! I was only 106 pre pregnancy and stayed in the 110s until well into my second trimester. I really didn’t even start putting on weight consistently until my 3rd trimester. My doctor told me the baby was just taking from the little fat stores that I did have, and any new food I was bringing in, so that’s why none of the weight was going to me

Dont worry! I only gained a few pounds with both my pregnancies. I was all bump with both. From the back you couldnt even tell I was pregnant

I didn’t start gaining weight until after week 20 really, but definitely had a pronounced bump early on. I’m now week 32 and have made up for all the lack of early weight gain in the last 12 weeks.. I think it is very individual and nothing to worry about. Your doctor should monitor and discuss if there are concerns

Don’t worry! I had only put on 5 pounds at 18 weeks but from that point on my weight definitely caught up 😂😂😂. Even if you don’t end up putting on a lot more, it’s okay because actually babies themselves don’t add all that much weight and even the extra things like more blood and placenta aren’t too much either (found that out post partum 😬😅). Your baby will take the nutrition they need from you to be healthy❤️

I didn’t gain any weight until the third trimester. Your baby is growing and is perfectly healthy. You’re just losing weight, which is perfectly normal, if your dr isn’t worried then you shouldn’t be😁

I only gain 10lb my whole pregnancy. As long as the doctors say your healthy no need to worry. Your baby just popped early. My little guy did he wanted to be seen lol

As long as your doctor isn't worried, don't be! They're the experts. I lost 20 pounds by about 18 weeks, didn't start gaining any back until 20 weeks, and my baby was just fine.

The same thing happened to me! I gained all my weight in my third trimester, ended up gaining almost 50lbs by the end. As long as your doctor doesn’t seem concerned, it’s all good girl 💕 you look beautiful!

I asked my Dr the same thing as if yesterday. I am 16 weeks and in my first trimester I gained only a few pounds. Then yesterday I was weighed at my desk office and I have lost 7 in a month. My Dr said it is because Im eating healthier and that the baby is also taking a lot from me. He was not concerned at all. He confirmed my baby is growing as she should and that all is ok. I have a bump which isn't huge yet but he said it will get bigger. I was nervous too but as long as he is happy, I am. He would tell me otherwise. He is very straight forward.

I’m at week 21+ and gained 5lbs

I only gained 15 lbs through my whole pregnancy. But I also had morning sickness for 7 out of the 9 months as well. So that didn't help.

I’m 18 weeks on Saturday and haven’t put on any weight yet- I am bigger anyway so see this as a good thing! The doctor said that it’s usually from around 20 weeks when your appetite starts increasing which can lead to weight gain. But everyone is different so I wouldn’t worry x

I was slim up until the ending of the pregnancy I started to blossom late she was small but she’s perfectly fine. It’s due to your size. Now I have a pouch I can’t get rid of after birth

I’m almost 20 weeks and I am not gaining much weight either

A lot of women loose weight during 1st trimester and I know I didn't gain back what I'd lost by 18 weeks.

Everything is ok and baby is growing❤️ Pregnancy is hard work for your body! I didn’t gain any weight until my third trimester. I was losing weight but baby was gaining.
