Working Out while TTC

Hi everyone!! I’m brand new to the app! I have always enjoyed weightlifting. Does anyone have any advice for weightlifting while ttc? Thanks so much!!

Don’t change a thing! It took us about seven tries to get pregnant. It wasn’t until I stopped worrying about everything and relaxed it finally happened. I lifted weights 3 times per week prior to getting pregnant and currently while pregnant. Good luck on your journey! 😊

Thank you! You are welcome! I drove myself crazy in the beginning with drinking special teas and seed cycling. The month I stopped all that was the month it happend!

Omg that’s so great to know. We’ve been trying off and on for 3 years. But last month we started getting serious with tracking things and I have been so scared to do anything so basically stopped working out all together 😭 that makes me feel good to know!! Thank you so much and congrats 🥰

My OBGYN told me to keep working out as normal! He said it only helps in TTC and in having a healthy pregnancy and baby! 🏋🏻‍♀️ 🚴

I think it only really becomes a concern in the 2nd/3rd trimester, and only because the belly starts getting in the way. (For cleans and snatches anyway) But if you want to deadlift throughout your journey and it makes you feel great - go for it!!

Keep going - it's good for you and will prepare your body for a faster recovery post partum. When you get pregnant you might change exercise selection and intensity depending on what's comfortable and makes sense for you. As an introduction I highly recommend checking out MegSquats' latest YouTube video about lifting during pregnancy. https://youtu.be/k95iCYAY9hE For some more advanced content, have a listen to this Stronger by Science podcast episode where the hosts interview the founders of Girl Gone Strong about lifting through pregnancy. https://open.spotify.com/episode/2dnCmD0BjBV3oi7iamqY9Y?si=XOafyppkTwiQrOz9xs7skg
