Hello lady’s ❤️ I love powerlifting, does this effect ttc or during pregnancy 🤰? I would hate to stop my normal routine but I want to stay safe

I think you should only consider your doctor's opinion on this...

Typically I think whatever you are used to doing for exercise you can continue when you’re pregnant if there are no complications. But definitely always just check with your doctor to make sure you’re doing what’s best for you and baby. ☺️

I’m trying to reach my max lifts now and keep increasing weight until I do conceive, so when I am pregnant I can lower it to a comfortable medium. Idk if this will be ok but I guess I’ll have to ask a doctor. I just started ttc in February so I don’t have an obgyn yet

You go girl! Love that you’re planning ahead to keep yourself in the game! I just had a miscarriage, but the four weeks I had symptoms kicked my butt and I fell out of my gym routine real quick. Now before trying again I also want to get myself to a good spot so I can maintain once the nausea and tiredness come back. More power to ya! ♥️

I’m working on my pre/post natal certification and am a personal trainer. Your workouts while TTC shouldn’t have an effect unless you’re working out too hard and lose your period. Once you are pregnant, there are several things to look out for in terms of safety. Generally want to stay at a 6-7 out of 10 in terms of how hard you’re working. If you look up Girls Gone Strong, they have a ton of resources on these topics!!

thanks hun, I’m a cpt, and a massage therapist so I’m always moving. I’m now 2 months pregnant and still lift heavy just no PRs/1MR. I feel great and I don’t want to stop doing what I’ve been doing for years. I know most people who have an opinion on my style of pregnancy already but I only know my body and wouldn’t put my baby at risk.

Hey - I bodybuild (obviously now I’m ttc I’m not cutting) but from My understanding if you already lift heavy you can continue to do so! Same when you’re pregnant
