Baby sleep

Getting nap trapped but have toddler too

What do others do if you have a toddler (we have a 3 year old girl) but keep getting regularly nap trapped or stuck breastfeeding? It's clear my girl gets frustrated and wants me up and about and playing and it can make things really tricky and us overly rely on TV. We try to go out wearing baby in the sling but there are just tonnes where you're happens. Should I be trying more to put the baby down for naps so then I'll be able to be up and around and more available? It would make life easier, but don't think baby will nap like this reliably or for long, but maybe persistence is key. How do others cope with being nap trapped when your toddler is home? It's become more of an issue during the holidays when nursery is not open! She's normally in 3 days a week.

Breastfeeding

Hating breastfeeding

Anyone else? I'm 3 weeks in, one boob out of action due to nipple damage and mastitis so pumping on one and baby feeding off the other. I hate how it makes you pretty much the only one who has baby and doing the night (my one currently struggles taking a bottle of exposed milk and the newborn teats so for way too quickly for him and wnds up with him distressed and later throwing up despite paced feeding). I swore if I found it too hard this time round I'd stop but there is part of me still wanting to persist in the hope it will get easier or somehow click. But, especially at night, I'm kind of hating it. Especially during cluster feeds which seem very frequent lately. He's been assessed for tongue tie and is borderline and they said he feeds well so would be a useless procedure. Anyone else begging similar feelings?

Breastfeeding

Cluster feeding - mental impact

I'm not doing that well with breastfeeding - find it hard and one boob is currently out of action due to nipple damage and mastitis so having to pump on it to keep milk supply and ensure it drains of milk. I've had support from midwives and a breastfeeding clinic to get advice on latches but I just don't feel like it's clicking for me, especially as I had a very difficult and short lived breastfeeding journey with my first baby. My 2 week old is currently going through another cluster feed and he was on my boob literally all day and I had no sleep and he's now up again and wide awake just on my boob and I'm sat here crying and desperate for him to stop and sleep so I can rest. And tomorrow my toddler is off from nursery and not back till Tuesday so there will be even less chance for rest. I feel totally overwhelmed and exhausted and hating breastfeeding. Anyone else finding breastfeeding and the cluster feeds really hard?

Baby sleep

Newborn Bubble

Hi everyone, hoping babies are appearing safely and you’re feeling okay. My baby came two weeks early and while I’m head over heels about him, the lack of sleep is tough with a bouncy 3 year old to occupy too! Any tips for settling him during the night, I feel like he wakes straining for a poo 1-5am!
