Dubuque

Me and my bf will be moving back to Dubuque in a couple months. We have a 1yr old son and another boy on the way due in September. Ill be new to the area and so if anyone needs a new friend or adult to talk to, I'm always here.

Hi I am a mother of 4 a 15 year old boy, a 4 year old boy. And 3 month old boy/ girl twins. We moved here last fall. Looking for someone who wants to bring over there babies watch greys anatomy, that's 70 show, or true crime. I also am a caretaker for my dad that has ALS. I don't have a lot of time outside of the house avaliable but am dying for adult conversation.

Has anyone lived in dubuque iowa? What schools would you recommend for elementary age in terms of:

How much attention is paid to each students needs academically?

Diversity and equality, my daughter is mixed race, can anyone share their own experiance with that? I'm mixed race as well and growing up here in CA I received so many questions about it and experianced some well bullshit lol.

How are the teachers and staff?

My son and I moved here during the pandemic from just across the river and we are ready to make some friends! My son hasn't been able to interact with kids much other than daycare which we started the beginning of this year, so he's learning! So patient mom's and kids are the best right now, especially since he's my first child also. I'm looking for mom friends for myself and kiddo friends for my son! We love going to play at the parks and love checking out new places! He wild and loves running around. I'm weird and most people are intimidated by me because if how I look but once I'm talked to, people realize I'm not all that scary 😅 I'm actually quite shy and quiet until I really get to be comfortable with someone. If anything I'm looking for my "village" since I basically restartedy life when I had my son and have very few people in it and I hardly know any parents with children close in age with my son.

Looking for feedback or thoughts on Irving School in Dubuque. We've lived here for ten years, but dont have any friends parents who have had children who attended Irving in the past. Appreicate knowing any thoughts, pros cons type list that other mommas may know of?
