My in-laws never meet up. The school holidays just went by, and none of them suggested to meet up. They hardly ever see each other during the year too. Like we’ll go months without seeing each other.

I’d invite round and suggest days out, and it would grow tiresome as no one would respond. Or once in a blue moon they’d come out.

This seems so abnormal for a Bengali family. They all get along, there’s no beef. No one even keeps in touch via messages. There’ll be one announcement shared in a blue moon.

I feel sad for the kids. They won’t have any close bond with their cousins which in turn gives them a bigger family, more memories etc. and especially these days when we’re mostly all having small families, it would be nice for them to have cousins that are like siblings.

But yeah my in-laws don’t bother to meet up much at all, tell me I’m not the only one.
