Holiday pay

Hi mums. I am in the UK. I moved house while on maternity leave for my husbands work and have resigned from my previous job while on maternity leave ready to start a new job once it finishes. My question is am I still entitled to be paid any holiday I accrued during my maternity leave from my previous employer? Many thanks :)

Maternity leave pay/entitlement

Hello everyone,

Posting incognito because I’m a little embarrassed by this. I’ll be going on maternity leave in Feb and my company pay 4 months full maternity leave. Can anyone guide me through what I need to be applying for?

Like how do I apply for SMP? Can I apply for universal credit? When and how do I apply for child tax benefit? Is there anything I need to be doing right now?

Thank you so much for any help with this. I’m basically having a mini panic attack every few days over this and I’m struggling with the fact that my partner will have to pay most of the bills whilst in on mat leave.

Struggling financially

Hi mums,

I need some advice. Me and my parter were doing okay, but not having much savings when the baby arrived. I am now on SMP and our income significantly dropped when the bills etc. stayed the same. My partner found some additional work but it’s still not the same and I can’t work as we have no one to help with the baby and she is too small to go to nursery.

I also read that most likely we won’t be eligible for the Universal Credit because of my partner’s earnings. How do we solve it as it’s barely enough for the bills and we will start accumulating debts 😭

How are you managing with pretty much just one income?

Some Financial advice needed

I am going on maternity leave in just over a week and I’m starting to become very anxious about how my husband and I are going to make my maternity pay work for us.

I will be getting SMP which has been calculated to £130 a week. This money won’t even cover what I contribute to our rent alone before even paying my own personal bills.

My husband does pay majority of our bills but we need my contribution to be able to make those bills every month.

Any suggestions of things I can do to make extra money during maternity leave or things I can apply for would be super helpful.

The anxiety around this has started to become extremely overwhelming for me 😪
