The Real Husbands and Fathers of Peanut

My Hubby is sick. He came home sick Friday evening after work and basically kept himself in our room until our little went to sleep. He did say good night to her at a distance, not to get too close cause whatever he has is contagious got it from a co-worker. Anyway, he comes out tonight and we've been talking after we watched a movie. My Dad is in his 80s and has Dementia. My hubby asks me what am I going to do with him tomorrow. I hadn't thought alot about it cause my hubby has been sick and he's been on my mind more than my dad. I had talked to my mom Friday about what her plans were - lunch at his favorite restaurant after church. I have told my hubby about it. I wasn't leaning toward it cause he couldn't go cause he's sick. I told my husband this. Hubby shifts and looks at me. " Babe. Go be with your dad, take the little too. Go be with him. You don't have many more with him. Go be with him as much as you can. Not just because he doesn't remember because we don't know how long we have him." Then he said, "I know I'm sick, and it's my day too, I will be here when you get back. Be with your dad." You choose what you want to do. Go early sit and talk with him, or go to lunch with them. Whatever you choose is fine with me. " I started to cry. I wanted to hug and kiss him right then. How did I get this lucky?

I had to share this. And I will remember this forever.

He was so worried my whole pregnancy that he wouldn't have a bond with her, then when she was born he was TERRIFIED of her. He was so scared that he'd break her and he was ashamed and scared because he didn't get that immediate, overwhelming wave of fatherly emotions. But seeing him learn how to be a dad and get more and more comfortable with her was so great, and seeing this crazy bond that they have now is just amazing. He is her favorite person and she is his. And I wouldn't have it any other way ❤️❤️❤️

My partner insisted! He ran it for me, poured me a drink and has taken little man for the duration. He says he doesn’t want to see me for at least 45 mins 🥰

I am so grateful to see this on here. I have such an incredible, loving husband who has been with me through some major struggles (some ongoing). I’m so glad there is a place on this app to appreciate men like him.

In our TTC journey, he is a complete participant, meaning he shares all of the excitements, hopes, and disappointments that this journey brings our way. Too often I feel that men aren’t allowed an inside view into what we go through during this time. I have found that it is just as meaningful to him, and it feels very natural to share it all with him. Can’t wait to read about all your wonderful partners!
