Family
I am struggling today. My daughter turns 2 in a few months. My mum and dad live in London and it is toxic and rocky, and we are VERY low contact. Things seemed to improve a bit when they found out I was pregnant. They met her once, and stayed for her first birthday. My mum got drunk during the week she stayed with us, and complained the whole time that she was bored, didn't feel valued and she shouldn't have bothered coming and she'd rather be home with her cats. All because they arrived late, my daughter had to sleep but was refusing to eat and I was trying to get her sorted and actually eat something when they arrived. So I didn't offer coffee immediately because I was sorting that out first. We got in a huge argument, things from childhood that I'd never mentioned came out. Worst argument of my entire life. Then huge hugs an apologies, and that she never realised and how we used to be so close etc etc. Things got better for a few weeks and she was asking about my daughter for the first ever time.
That was 9 months ago..she hasn't asked once how she is since. Her birthday is a few months away, and they haven't even mentioned visiting. Which normally they'd book way in advance. I feel like they aren't going to visit because their ego after last time and that they don't care, I guess?
I feel sad that my daughter won't have 2 sets of grandparents. Or that she will ask one day why she doesn't see them or they don't talk to her, or want to know her. Even if they did stay in her life, they said "its too far. Its sad we won't be involved", but then do everything to NOT be involved. I just feel so rejected on my daughters behalf. I don't understand why it is so difficult to ask how she is, or take an interest. I'm fed up of sending photos or giving an update and just getting "aw" as a response.
I have no village here, and if something happened and I had to move back to the UK, I'd still have no village.
I feel so conflicted. I want them involved and to care, and I dont want them to be half in and half out if it means their "love" is inconsistent that some years they won't even visit her. Like a dad that says he'll see them on the weekend and doesnt show. It just makes it worse than not being involved at all I guess?

Baby & toddler food
Hi moms! What do you typically give your toddlers as a snack? My little one doesn’t like veggies so we mostly give him fruit but I would tile to try other healthy alternatives.

Morning sickness
Any advice for some products here in the Netherlands that can help with first trimester nausea and sickness? I’ve been extremely ill and unable to get out of bed for weeks so I’m looking for anything that can help

Breastfeeding
I have never ever been made to feel uncomfortable or anything breastfeeding here. The only comments that have been made have been very positive ones! But today, at my daughter’s toddler music class, I fed her in it when we were all sat down and after the class the teacher came up to me (in front of everyone) and asked me if I must breastfeed, if I could remove myself as to not make others feel uncomfortable. I was very taken aback, shocked! Especially given where we were! I was quite upset afterwards and what I found odder was one when of the other mums text me to ask why I had left in such a rush; she was almost defending the teacher. Saying that the teacher should have asked everyone if they were uncomfortable bringing approaching me And when I said I would be very surprised if another parent would be bothered by that, she said no I expect the father and grandmother that were there probably were bothered and were perfectly within their right to tell me if they were bothered by it. And that as a tight lipped British person, that I would find this un normal but it was the norm here to complain about such matters. I found this odd, disappointing even?! Just feeling quite shocked and hurt by it all to be honest. I thought breastfeeding in such a scenario would have been more acceptable there than anywhere else.
