Hatties story❤️

Hi everyone I thought I would introduce my Hattie! On 08/12/2024 I went into maternity assessment at 38 weeks for reduced movements and they popped me on the monitor to find a slow heartbeat then it stopped so I was taken for an emergency c section, she was born not breathings with meconium in her waters and was intubated straight away. Once she was taken to the NICU they popped her on the brain wave monitor and picked up seizures so was immediately put on cooling and transferred from Leeds to Hull as this was the closest ICU bed. During her time on cooling she suffered from sepsis, hyperglycaemia, seizures and blood clotting problems. After the 72 hours of cooling the MRI took place which was completely clear and showed no indication of any potential or previous brain damage. The only things that were impacted was her kidneys and liver which she is having treatment for and will do for the next few months at least. The HIE was caused by me having undiagnosed velametous cord insertion, this also caused her to weigh the same at a 33 week old baby at full term. She spent 10 days in the nicu and came home for 2 days then was back in peads for another week for her kidneys. What I would love to know is what can I expect with her development with her HIE only being grade 1 and the MRI being clear?

Thankyou for reading I hope everyone and there babies are doing well❤️

Postpartum mental health

Hi all! New mom, postpartum depression- HELP!

I have been struggling with postpartum and mixed emotions and mood swings. I am easily irritated and flustered. I love my baby and being a mom, but staying at home all the time is hard. I feel like when I ask for help with the baby, I am not contributing my part to the household. My baby was born with severe HIE due to medical malpractice and that has been a struggle ever day since my daughter was born. She was in the NICU for a month and I feel like it’s my fault even though it isn’t. We have had so many doctors appointments for her that I can’t even count the amount of appointments. She’s had 2 surgeries and right now she is healthy and progressing well, but I’m constantly worrying and have major anxiety.

Baby movement

CP early signs

Hi Everyone. My son Davis was born at 38 & 4 (10 minutes untraceable heart rate before birth and 12 minutes resuscitation post birth). He was flown to our nearest NIPCU within 8 hours of birth and had 8 day stay (initial 72 hours cooling) all our tests, MRI, monitoring came back with no indication of any long term effects from his birth but we are seeing many specialists to keep track and at our 4 week consult with physio they said that his movement don’t see quite right and now I’m paranoid about his movements even though he’s hitting his milestones for a 3 month old (rolling, holding his head up, reaching and playing with toys) I just want to know what everyone noticed with their little ones that have a Cerebral Palsy diagnoses just out of curiosity and worry for my little guy. I just want to be prepared and educated on what to expect so I can do right by him

Pregnancy scans

Waiting for 2

Here to vent! When my daughter was diagnosed with HIE they told us they most likely wouldn’t do another MRI until she was 2 and let’s just say our first MRI in the NICU wasn’t awesome. My daughter just passed 18 months and that came with lots of specialist appointments and EI follow ups and even though things are going well and overall my daughter is still progressing steadily I am still finding myself holding my breath until 2. In fact, one of my good friends called me out on it because she and I were talking about a recent appointment and she said something along the lines of ‘That sounds so good, I’m so glad she’s not behind,’ and I said ‘Well we’ll see where we’re at in the summer,’ and she asked why it didn’t seem like I was that excited about the present and the positives and I just kinda brushed it off as a cranky moment, but the truth is I just don’t think I’ll feel comfortable until I have more solid answers. And who even knows if I’ll even get that after she turns 2! Some doctors have told me they might not know what her abilities will be until kindergarten age!

I just want my sweet and super happy baby to be able to be a super happy child and adult too and not be constantly wondering if she will be able to lead the life she deserves. My husband and I aren’t wealthy people and I worry about her future if she isn’t able to take care of herself on her own and we’re too old to!
