relationship with God

Hi all! Sunday is my baptism!!! I’m sitting here writing cue cards for my testimony video. at my church they have us make a video of our testimony and it is played for the church right before the baptism. while doing this I really thought of yall and I wanted to say hi and thank you guys because you are part of my testimony. every single time I share my testimony I never fail to mention how God led us together to grow in knowledge, truth, and love. Thank you for walking with me to all those that helped guide me, those that were new to studying the word like me, and to those who I grew a close relationship with. We have never met in person but we are sisters in Christ and that holds us together more than anything. May God bless you and your families. I love you!!!

29 “This shall be a statute forever for you: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether a native of your own country or a stranger who dwells among you. 30 For on that day the priest shall make atonement for you, to cleanse you, that you may be clean from all your sins before the Lord. 31 It is a sabbath of solemn rest for you, and you shall afflict your souls. It is a statute forever. 32 And the priest, who is anointed and consecrated to minister as priest in his father’s place, shall make atonement, and put on the linen clothes, the holy garments; 33 then he shall make atonement for the Holy Sanctuary, and he shall make atonement for the tabernacle of meeting and for the altar, and he shall make atonement for the priests and for all the people of the assembly. 34 This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year.” And he did as the Lord commanded Moses. Hi! So I’m currently in the beginning of my own spiritual journey/religious journey. I never really knew what my beliefs were or even are currently. I did not grow up in a religious household. I do believe that my mother’s beliefs definitely influenced and impacted my own (not purposefully).

So I am currently reading the Bible for the first time in my life. I’ve been slacking on my reading/studying since the New Year began. I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed and a little lost. All due to my own feelings and thoughts. If anyone has any tips or advice I’d really appreciate it!

I could really use a study buddy or just someone to talk to about all this or to help check in with me on my reading/studying. I’ve been trying to do at least 10-15 minutes of reading a day.

Matthew 22:37-40 37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

Many in this group and I are new or fairly new to growing a relationship with God and beginning to read the Bible. Think of this space as pre-k or even head start of the God based groups.
