Is your child’s daycare required to have a nap time?
I hate that my son’s daycare is required to have nap time. He does horribly with nap time and it pushes his bedtime back, as well as decrease the actual number of hours he sleeps (9-10 hours instead of the recommended 10-12). Their nap times start after 1pm and they try to wake everyone by 2:45pm. That’s so late!
When they wake him up, he is extremely moody, usually crying, and refuses to participate in activities. I pick him up around 3:30 and he will run to me and start crying, saying “I’m so tired”. When he doesn’t nap. He’s energetic and playful all day. They tell me the kids need to lie quietly for the first 30 mins and then they can play quietly on their cots. But with the atmosphere set for sleep in the room, he tends to fall asleep about 45-60 mins into it. They said I can bring something to keep him busy and I was thinking an iPad with head phones, but doing like the idea of not being and to monitor his play.
Any thoughts or ideas anyone might have on what else I can bring for him to keep him busy?
Sorry so long winded!
