Popped into our local supermarket for the weekly shop (I’m UK based) and went to the baby clothing section to get some tights/leggings for our 4mo boy, so that we can layer under pants, etc for warmth during winter.
Obvs all of it was separated by gender and colour (which also irks me cos colour has no gender). Went to the boys side first cos I guess that’s where all the blues are - he just happens to look good in blues and greens - and couldn’t find a single pair. Went to the girls side, and well, picture as evidenced. I… honestly don’t care that it’s pink and yellow. At 4mo neither does he. I just want him warm and comfy.
What annoys me is that do people actually think boys don’t need/shouldn’t wear tights, and need to “tough it out” or some nonsense like that?
Out of curiosity I checked the aisle of older kids clothes and again, all the nice warm leggings were closer to the girls’ clothes, and I just… why??? Do they think boys don’t want warm feet/legs too??
And aye, I know other stores probably have gender neutral tights. It’s not my point.
