Working night shift while pregnant

I'm on my first batch of night shifts since being pregnant. I haven't told work (other than HR that I'm pregnant). I'm 16+3

I've been working night shift since Monday. My workload allows me to take a nap on shift so that's been helpful. But Monday night I feel very sick & finally threw up at the end of my shift. After Tuesday night shift I threw up once I got home (7:30am). Food hasn't come up when Im sick, it's clear, so I can rule out food as a cause.

But does anyone have tips to prevent sickness or know reasons why I may be throwing up at 7am after a 12 hour night shift? Much appreciated thanks as I have more night shifts to come.

Pumping

How long did y’all pump?

I’m just wondering for how long did my fellow working mom’s pump? I’ve been breastfeeding my son for almost seven months and I’ve been back at work and pumping for about three months now. But it’s exhausting pumping at work.

I really want to make it to a year for breastfeeding. But I’m kind of dreading go past that. I mean, I would love to continue breastfeeding my baby into the toddler years because I love breastfeeding him. It’s just the pumping at work that I absolutely hate.

I guess I just need some encouragement. How long did other working and pumping moms out there go for? Did anyone keep pumping into the toddler years?

Mental health & wellbeing

Could the stress of returning to work make baby sick?

So I was supposed to return to work tomorrow from maternity leave but baby girl woke up this morning with a fever of 103. She's 7 months and has never been sick before. We spent several hours at the doctor's office. They couldn't figure out a reason for her illness. Her flu test was negative (and she hasn't been around anyone who has been sick). Her doctor said it was probably viral but did additional tests which were all negative. We were sent home and told to just monitor and give her tylenol and motrin. The doctor said (possibly as a joke) that the baby was having a tantrum because she didn't want me to leave tomorrow. Other people have said this too. Could this be a real thing?😔 I have been stressed and dreading going back.😭 Could she have picked up on my stress and gotten sick?🥺 I don't think so but I don't know. I feel even more like crap for leaving her now. Didn't need any more mommy guilt. Anyway, I'm not going back tomorrow. We'll try again next Tuesday.
