Anyone else has this many stretch marks?

My skin is very sensitive when it comes to stretch marks… I have no problem with having so many since I already knew it would happen an I’m creating life in there. But people are sometimes very rude and if they see them they rapidly comment on them and hit me with the “omg your belly” “you have so many” “did you not use anything to avoid them?” “Are you concerned about them after birth?” “What will you do if they don’t go away?” Like it’s something bad!!!

You should tell them to mind their own business. Some people are prone to stretch marks compared to others due to genetics. No amount of cream or oil in the world can prevent stretch marks occurring. Others will not use cream/ oil and not get a single damn stretch mark. They should not comment on your body at all because they are trying to create insecurities within you that you do not need. Stretch marks are not a disease that needs curing.

You're totally fine. This is 1st pregnancy stretch marks sometimes it could be a rash but get your doctor to prescribe ointment if you're not feeling them. I think your belly is beautiful!

Avatar

I know exactly how you feel, with my first my midwife saw my stretch marks and said ‘well you’ll never want to wear a bikini ever again’.

Avatar

Why are people like this!! Stretch marks are natural, and for a lot of people, unavoidable! You can use literally every cream under the sun and still get them. The fact there is still such a stigma around them just goes to show the part airbrushing magazines etc has to play in this stigma as most people have them baby or no baby!! I had stretch marks anyway and have more now on my tummy because of my growing bump but they don’t bother me either. They are what they are and I know they’ll fade over time but either way they are there to prove I grew my perfect baby boy. Good for you for not letting these people get to you and I hope you’re telling them exactly where to stick their unwanted opinions and comments!

Avatar

Looks just like mine!!!! And they go so soft afterwards....my little boy loves to stroke them! On baby no2 now...and not got any new ones...just look less dark 2nd time round. I used every cream under the sun 1st time round knowing I'd get them...made no difference. 2nd time round I've used nothing....made no difference. Lol. Love my tiger belly.

I was really embarrassed by mine, my stomachs covered 😅. And I tried so many products to prevent them to and to try and help them fade. The midwife told me it’s down to genetics and not to bother with products for stretch marks unless they become itchy then apply moisturiser.
But everyone’s body’s different and nothings going to change it so I try and embrace mine now and be happy that those are the marks that will be left from making my little boy ☺️ xx.
But I get what you mean about other peoples comments, I hate when people say ‘oh that’s so weird I’ve got none’ 😅

Avatar

I had the exact same! My skin doesn’t have a lot of stretch so at about 35 weeks they popped up. All the colour is gone now but my tummy skin will never be the same. I’m one of these people that was very insecure about it for a long time. But I’ve been with my husband for so long and he really doesn’t care about them so that’s all I care about! You’re growing a beautiful healthy baby, congratulations!

Avatar

I’m so glad you love the skin you’re in! 😍 I just wanted to add from a different point of view and maybe one to consider...
I’ve been trying for a baby for 9 years and this year I’ve finally fallen pregnant with our little miracle, but in those 9 years of trying I would have seen this and wish so hard that I could be in your position!
So many people may not like it because it’s what society has told us to feel but there are 1000s of women who are on their own journey wishing they could be in your skin carrying their own child! ❤️ so that’s something you could always comment on, how lucky you are to have them when so many people want them! ☺️
Continue to be proud of your body! You’re rocking it! Xx

Avatar

Girl I know exactly how you feel. That’s what happened to me when I was pregnant and I’m still learning to love them

Avatar

My stomach is exactly the same my ex husband made some awful comments but they fade over time and you barely notice them, ive got them on my thighs, arms, boobs and stomach, my new partner told me they are the story of my life and my body has housed two beautiful children, fed them both and gained and lost weight multiple times, he still thinks its sexy and doesnt notice them xxxx

Avatar

I honestly wish mine were like this!
I really hoped with my second I’d get quite a few, I did not 😩
They’re beautiful!

Avatar

Love your stripes mama!! ❤
I've got them on my legs and hips, people always have something to say when I say they came when I was pregnant!

Avatar

Palmer's coco butter for stretch marks work wonders

Avatar

They are beautiful, I didn't get many on my belly but have tons on my hips and sides and legs, just remember they are a daily reminder of how wonderful our bodies truly are to be able to grow a human being. Don't let other people's comments drag you down at all, also something I learned in uni, you can't prevent stretch marks they are actually hereditary. My doctor told me the samething and said not to waste my money on a bunch of products that they won't work, they can help with itching and healing but not preventing them.

Avatar

I’m almost 8 weeks pp my belly will never look the same but I’m okay with that

Avatar

Me just as I fount out I was pregnant

Avatar

They are your battle of love scars. Wear them proudly. I used bio oil from day one of pregnancy and still they seemed to have popped out overnight.

Avatar

Mine showed up all over and turned dark like this towards the end of my first pregnancy. They did eventually fade to a much lighter color by about a year postpartum. I've gotten a few more dark ones again this pregnancy, but mostly it's the same ones as before, just more visible with the belly skin all stretched out again.

Avatar

My stomach was exactly the same. It was the itching of them that drove me mad! My youngest is 10 months now and they've mostly faided but you can definitely still see and feel them and tell the skin is different. I'm kind of indifferent to them now. Hubby loves them tho 🤷
For some reason some people (too many people) see a pregnant lady and loose all boundaries. They invade our personal space and spout whatever I'll conceived thought crosses their mind.

Avatar

Wear those stripes with pride mama! Theres women who'd kill for them. Your body did amazing things! Xxxxx

Avatar

I did with the first one but they faded when I used the palmers stretch mark cream

Avatar

🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️ me! I had stretch marks like this. All over my stomach, hips and boobs. I have smaller ones on my thighs and arms. I used “the best” creams every single day, I drank water, I did the things they say will prevent them and I still ended up with them. I’m convinced it’s genetics. Anyways mine are still all there 2 years after giving birth, they are no longer red though which is nice. I’ve never been one to wear a 2 piece or show my stomach so it doesn’t really bother me.

Avatar

I had some like yours with my first. I’d probably say I actually had more they were up to under my boobs and down to on my V. People can back off and keep their opinions to themselves. I have a pouch now but the stretch marks are so faded you can nearly see them it just looks like loose skin. They only look angry when they’re stretched. Stretch marks are genetic it’s how much elastin and collagen you have naturally in your skin. If you’re gonna get them you’re gonna get them.

Avatar

Tiger stripes! To show how fierce mamas are!

Avatar

All of you guys are so amazing and making me feel way better about them than I had ever felt! I’m loving them even more now 🥰

Avatar

Sign of bringing a life into the world, don’t understand why people feel the need to make comment’s your bumps look beautiful and healthy. Xx

Avatar

I do, but from pre pregnancy, tits to knees with more on the way thanks to twins! Mine start that dark looking but they did turn silvery in time. I love seeing them flash a little light pink whenever I turn in the light. I’m like one of those holographic Pokémon cards 😂🥰

So many folks don’t realize that it doesn’t matter what you use or do, that stretch marks are very much genetic and they are frankly cool as fuck. No person has the same marks, and they are so unique! Mine are all very long with some interspersed shorter ones in, and a freckle got caught in one which turned it into a funky little birthmark! Honestly bodies are so effin cool.

Tell those folks to mind their own bodies. Your body is cool as fuck no matter what other people think or have to say. Who the hell cares if they don’t go away? Society’s beauty standards can shove it.

Avatar

Have pride in them! You look like a tiger! 😜 so interesting to see, dont be shy with them, just shows how strong and fierce you are! Xx

Avatar

I feel like I had no stretch marks until the last few weeks and I just got like 1 million out of nowhere

Avatar

Thats a tiger mamaaa 💪 ive always wondered if i will get them like this.. but i havent with none of my pregnancies i honestly think this is beautiful.. !! Be proud dont listen to nobody whos negative... youre doing something special!!

Avatar

Oh it really annoys me when people suggested to use something to avoid them. I'm like - do you not think I tried!? This was with regular moisturising day and night.

Avatar

Wow that’s so rude people would respond to you like that! Don’t feel bad about them at all!! ❤️ you are amazing!!

Avatar

I have a similar amount of stretch marks and I love them! I think they are beautiful! It’s a shame that the first thing people say when I show them is ‘they aren’t that bad!’ When I never thought they were bad in the first place! 😂

Avatar

I got a lot of stretch marks just like yours despite using oils and cocoa butter. I had nothing till week 34 and then there they were. I got a similar reaction from people. Surprisingly, some of them were moms of two and I was surprised to see that reaction coming from them. But just ignore, they will fade away in few months. We are creating a beautiful life inside. And we have no control over some things

Avatar

I call my stretch marks a road map 🤣🤣 got em from my boobs to down my thighs... they also wrap around.. up my side, my back. Even got a couple varicose veins from my 3rd kid 🤷‍♀️ my baby thinks they're fun to play with ha..

I tried the creams.. cocoa butter... some expensive cream they came out with & nothing prevented them or helped them... so it is what it is... no shame here. Im fine with my baby marks its the weight that i hate haha

Avatar

Wear them like a precious jewel my sister. They tell your story, and your story is beautiful and that story will call you mama. 🥰

Avatar

Stretch marks are genetic!!! MOISTURIZE!!!! Vaseline rich thick lotion!!!!!
Good luck!!

Avatar

Wear them with pride. It’s a reminder at how great your body is for growing a human ❤️❤️❤️

Avatar

I'm the same

Avatar

Tbh they fade anyway, you can’t actually prevent them. If you don’t have the elasticity then you will get them doesn’t matter what cream you use. It’s good u embraced them ❤️

Avatar

My family gets them on the butt 🤣 so I've seen it as normal.

Avatar

I'm the same, plus my ass is covered too 😭😂 Alas. Its mostly genetic, so just cut them the fuck off when they say stupid shit like that. 🤗 you're doing something amazing with your body, and creating literal joy. That shit is hard AF on your body. I've noticed that after telling everyone that I don't want any advice from them, and then kindly reminding them of that fact consistently enough helped the inquiries go away. 🤘 you're doing great! Plus most of em will fade after birth anyways.

Avatar

In general people feel «  obliged » to comment everything when it comes to pregnancy! I don’t have stretch marks yet, but my belly shows quiet a lot already ( almost 20 weeks) and every single time I see our neighbours or friends they would say: oh wow! It grows faster than we thought!! Or wow is is only one baby? Or have you gained a lot of weight? ( which I haven’t btw) but like it is superrrr annoying! I was more irritated in the beginning but then tried to see it as their problem, their way of expressing their emotions, so now I just nod and ignore😅 Take care mama💜

Avatar

Breast milk will help to reduce them

Avatar

I looked exactly like you. You can use as much stuff as you want but a part of it is also genetics so the stuff may only help so much. I used coco butter everyday 3 times a day and it looked like I never once put it on 🤷‍♀️ but other women it works great. I’d do it either way though. I mean your skin is stretching like crazy

Avatar

How do you feel.....that's what counts....you are creating life and that is the most amazing beautiful gift ever.....you are doing good mama....and your body is doing the work of gods

Avatar

If you're going to get stretch marks, there's no magic oil in the world that will stop that! And honestly I think that they're so beautiful 😍
Ignore these idiots with their rude comments. Or better yet, tell them that they're being rude!
Everybody and every body is different. Shine, babes!!

Avatar

When did they start appearing? This is my first pregnancy and I don’t have any yet, but my mom did and I know it’s genetic so I’m expecting to as well. As long as you feel great that’s all that matters!! Keep up that beautiful confidence!

Avatar

My mum has them and I thought mine werent too bad at 32 weeks, but now at 39 weeks I've definitely got them just like my mum. It's genetics and it's common. There are people who boast they never got stretch marks, but whatever! Every skin type is beautiful!

Avatar

I’ve been reading all of you guys and appreciate your responses so much!
Two days ago I noticed that my lower tummy is starting to get very soft and soggy and the stretch marks feel like bumpy… anyone else feeling that? Got that? Or knows if it’s normal? A girl I know told me yesterday I look like I’ve lost some weight and only my belly kept growing…. Could it be that?
