Tomorrow is my due date and I’ve been having what feels like pretty strong Braxton Hicks contractions, cramps, sharp pelvic pains, low back pain for 3 days. And 1 week ago I was 30% effaced but not dilated. This is my first so I expected to go late but I feel like I’m in this in between phase where things are happening and I want to get things moving! I’ve been eating sooo many dates every day and drinking red raspberry leaf tea for a few weeks, and even used my breast pump today to try to get things moving. What else worked for y’all?

Wish I could help - I went to 41 weeks doing all of those things...

Sex, hot baths, and walking. Also, a membrane sweep helped start my labor.

Castor oil does the trick. But a small amount, maybe a teaspoonful only. I haven't tried it but my gf, a mom of 3 has.

How do you feel about getting induced by your doctor?

Try to relax as much as possible. You may be feeling anxious to begin labor and that anxiety can block oxytocin from flowing. You may also want to talk to your doctor about a membrane sweep as well.

The baby will come when it comes unfortunately! Not much you can do

SEX! It’s the only thing! Sex & walking but not to much. You’ll need all your energy! xxx

You’re not even over your due date which is an estimate anyway.. your baby will come when ready.
Try walking or bouncing a ball.

I tried everything to prevent an induction. I tried dates, raspberry leaf tea, bouncing on ball, warm baths, long walks twice a day, bumpy car journeys, spicy foods, walking up and down stairs, squats and sex. Honestly nothing worked. But my induction was amazing.
I'd Honestly recommend, just trying to relax before baby arrives because it's all go from there. Focus on getting sleep. Wish I did this before baby arrived, instead of trying these pointless old wives tales. Baby will arrive when ready.
All the best x

I know the just wait comments probably kill you but it's true. I tried it allllll and went to 42 weeks. Some countries don't consider full term to be until 41 weeks. Full term is actually considered 37-42 weeks. Trying to force it can hurt you and the baby. Like castor oil is really bad. Terrible. I do think pumping and the ways you've tried are great natural ways to try tho. Lots of walking. And definitely sex if you can. Even masturbation because the female orgasm is what really can get contractions going. So getting "there" is really the goal. Not so much the sex. Good luck!

Try to relax and view it as a due from date. Easier said than done I know (especially if you're being hounded by family as to whether you have given birth yet!!!)but 85% of babies are born after their due date, and the most common day is 40+6. I went for a swim on my due date and gave birth 40+1. Who knows if it was the swim or going to happen anyway but do some things you enjoy and that will take your mind off waiting and it will happen.

Caulophyllum powders are fantastic to get things going if they are imminent

Today is my due date too and ive tried everything these past few days. Someone recommended that I get a pedicure because of pressure points in the foot. Im going to try that and even if it doesn’t work ill have a nice pedicure☺️

I went 16 days over with my youngest I tried everything pineapple juice dark chocolate (things I read work) sex curry bouncing on birthing ball stretch and sweep curry walking dancing nipple stimulation everything!!! They even tried to induce me they gave me contractions but I never actually dilated so it didn't make a difference

Just allow your body to naturally go into labor. Your body won't actually go into labor unless the baby is ready. But try using a yoga ball to bounce on it really helps bring baby down further and when contractions do start it helps with them as well.

Sex and bouncing on a ball

Dates don't help induce labour. But there is evidence to show they can speed up labour once it starts. Didn't work for me but mine was not a naturally induced labour.

They are notorious for coming past due date.
Early labor is the longest part can be hours or days, make sure you are resting, hydrated, eating protein, peeing often and changing positions every 30 mins or go for a walk if not resting.
I had prodromal labor for weeks with my first he came 41weeks 19 hours of labor with 15 of it being early labor. The harder part was only 4 hours

Chamomile tea :)

I walked drops the baby

Elliptical for 30 min and my baby popped right out

Lots of people can be even slightly dilated for several weeks. Breast pump / other nipple stimulation is the only scientifically studies way to help encourage labor. It produces the right hormones to activate labor. Also try exercising if you can, my mom said she went it to labor with me after working out

Foley bulb! The Foley bulb got me to 5cm and put me in labor. I had to get induced due to blood pressure. They inserted the Foley bulb and sent me home. It took only 5-6 hours to come out. 😁

Sex worked for me. I was in "false labor" but had contractioms from 36 to 42 +1. I know you're antsy but your body is doing what it needs. Just walk, have some sex if you can and relax. Once baby comes its a whirlwind and you need rest before. ❤️

Midwives Brew put me into labour within 1 hour of drinking it. Tastes horrible but worked !

Midwife told me that the only thing that has been scientifically proven to work is sex and the woman and guy must both orgasm because that’s how it stimulates the flow of labour 💗

Bouncing on an exercise ball

I drank raspberry tea and had a foot massage and the baby came out the same day

Midwives Brew

Bouncing on gym ball, hip opening yoga, collecting colostrum. Waters broke in 24 hrs and I was 5 days late x

Try walking or taking a warm bath. Letting your body soak in it.

Definitely wait you want the potty to be a fun experience if he is crying and its stressing both of you out just give it time. Read potty books . My son really likes the potty train book . Also the paw patrol potty is super cool it has a button that makes a flushing noise and a button that claps after they go potty . It was something fun for him to do after going potty. I always let him be in charge of dumping it into the big potty and flushing it down . He likes to be independent. But like you I tried at 2 and it was a battle screaming crying and running around the house. So I just said okay this is not working and waited. And now at 3 he goes potty. It will happen eventually. Just keep the potty out and ask him every so often if he wants to go eventually he will say yes. Also let him come in the bathroom with you when you potty they love to copy what we do. Best of luck

Hahahha I am so sorry this was not supposed to go to this post I thought I was responding to a potty post

Walking

Walking, sex, and pineapple helped with my first lol.

Your baby will come when its ready. Most of the things mentioned here are old wives tales and most of them havent been proven to induce labor. Your doctor can. And yes some will make your uterus contract. But your uterus contracting can happen at any point in pregnancy and doesnt necessarily mean you will go into labor. People will say they did this and baby came but its possible it is a councidence. If you are 40 weeks and baby still hasnt arrived you could talk to your doctor about inducing. Any point before than I always tell woman to practice self care instead of trying to jumpstart labor. Because you need energy for that actual day. Good luck to you mama! Also its very possible your baby will come right on your due date! My first daughter did! And I felt absolutely nothing to indicate she would beforehand!

Prenatal yoga 2x a day set me into labor 3 days later with my first born at 38 weeks and 6 days I was in labor so he was born the day I turned 39 weeks I also had my obgyn strip my membranes at 38 weeks and 4 days

Sex helped with mine

Bouncing on a exercise ball, and swinging at the park helped me a lot. Sex will also help, also can try lunges and yoga. But unfortunately sometime nothing works and baby will come when he or she is ready.

Have sex!

I was scheduled to be induced with my 4th at exactly 39wk and for whatever reason I decided to try and take my toenail polish off the night before... Ha ha ha water broke before I could get my second foot done ....

Walking

Deep squats and stairs, walking pm and off curb from the side. Definitely gets some things moving

My doctor asked me what I would be doing to get labor to start sooner. I said nothing and he said good answer because there is no way of inducing labor at home that has ever been proven effective.

Sex, bath, go for a walk

Nope unfortunately I had to be induced

My water broke when I was getting a foot massage lol. Also I was bouncing on the birthing ball all week and especially the last few days

I had my membrane(honestly can't remember what that's called lol) sweeped and went into labor the next day

Utilizing a birthing ball. Cat/Cow pose. Sex. Hydrotherapy (getting into bath, or shower), walking, massages on certain pressure points by a professional. I’ve even see a good laugh do the trick and just lots of overall love 🤎

Baby will come when ready.
