Nipple piercing and breastfeeding

So I have just found out I’m pregnant (Around 5 weeks) I got my nipples pierced after I finished breastfeeding my first son and would love to breastfeed the new baby when should I take my piercings out? How long do they need to heal before I can breastfeed? does anyone know?

I don't know what the correct time frame is, but I took mine out after my 20 week scan as I wanted to make sure they were all healed up in time. It probably didn't need to be that long to be honest, as I remember them healing quite quickly. Good luck!

From what I read you can keep them in and take them out for feeding... I chose to take mine out at about 18 weeks because it became a bit uncomfortable for me and I wanted them to heal for breastfeeding. But also if you have your belly button done you will have to take it out for 2nd scans- I even tried the plastic maternity one and ended up having to take that out too now I have an outie 😂

I had mine in the whole pregnancy, took them out in delivery, we had a hard time latching so I just pumped but I kept them out so they are all healed. I don’t think I’m going to get them done again.
