Was he overdue? Looks the same as my lil boy who was born 40+3. I was advised to use olive oil and it done the job perfectly ☺️

My baby was the same initially. Apparently it’s normal because they’ve been in water for so long. I didn’t use anything and it just cleared up, but if you’re worried it might be something like eczema you can ask your GP to check and they can always prescribe moisturiser cream.

Completely normal. I’d just leave well alone and try not to cream it etc and it doesn’t need it. It will go away! X

Very normal. They’ll “peel” in patches aswell. Once the hands and feet clear up, you’ll see it in the tummy, then around the ears and so on until that layer is gone. It’s true about it protecting their skin when they were in the womb.
You can try using the coconut oil to keep it hydrated but it’s very common and will take a few days to weeks until it’s gone. Nothing to worry about 😊

They are getting used to the outside world so they do shed a bit and also get spotty. Best just to leave it x

Totally normal, it’s best to leave it alone.

Yes normal, I used EVOO for hair and skin. Don't pick it!

My little girl is two weeks old and has the same. I’ve used olive oil which has helped. Just rub a bit in to baby’s skin after you have bathed her, fingers crossed it helps for your little girl too :)

Oh thank you all so much. Really nice to have the reassurance x

I’ll try Shea butter 🥰🤞🏽

Don't worry that's normal 😊 I would just leave it and see how it goes but my little boy has generally dry skin and found grape seed oil helped when he was a newborn and then child's farm sensitive moisturiser now he's a toddler x

It's so normal. It's going away by themself.

It’s soo cute when I see questions like, as it tells me you may be a ftm, & that you are doing great! You are walking into mom life flawlessly & I commend you for asking your questions like any concerned mom, especially ftm. 💋💋

Like mostly everyone said, it’s normal mama! Babies come out with “old skin” and for maybe about a month it will shed. Just wait til the cradle cap happens. Soo much joy🙄😂💋

Totally normal, just shedding as your baby grows into her skin 😊. I didnt use any creams, it went away on its own after a week or 2 x

I didn’t use creams or oils just let the skin peel. No need to worry!

Eucerin is a magical lotion girl my daughter's feet did the same thing. I just. Gave her a warm bath and lotioned them babies do get this so it's normal.

My paediatrician recommended very pure olive oil and it worked a treat for my little boy. Very common to have this kind of dry skin when baby is so little

Avatar

Lovely I’ll try these over the next few weeks see what works🥰

Avatar

My son did that I used child farm moisturiser and it cleared up x

Baby aquaphor helped my daughters peeling within 2 days

By baby's skin peeled for a few week. Pediatrician said it was OK. Still looks scary though

It happened to my baby, we used coconut oil to massage and mustella oil cleanser to shower. So i think you try that.

Avatar

Very normal… I freaked out too!!

Try a baby bath and lotion that contains oats, it works wonders.

Avatar

It's normal. You can use aquaphor on it.

My son had this for about 2 weeks after he was born I used coconut oil and cocoa butter
