A really good, safer, high quality at-home dye is Madison Reed - they ban a ton of toxic, unsafe chemicals such as PPD, ammonia, parabens, resorcinol, phtalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, and titanium dioxide - I skipped my first trimester to be safe, but plan to dye once each trimester to keep up my color. Here’s the website for anyone interested: https://www.madison-reed.com/

I avoided it completely just to be safe. I believed it would be safe in well ventilated area, just as a first time mom I was too scared. But I think if you chose to go with an ammonia free dye and did it in a well ventilated area you should be safe.

My doctor told me it was fine but if I was worried about it avoid dying it during the first trimester.

I’m a hairstylist and you can get your hair colored while pregnant you just need to know that there is a chance it might not take correctly. With all the hormone changes and if you are on any medication it *could affect the color. It’s also very possible that it will be just fine and nothing will happen. Just make sure your stylists knows!
