Help

Anyone know how to get their toddler to eat when they're ill? My little one is naturally skinny (being fussy with food probably doesn't help) so I feel he can't afford to lose much weight. We're on day 3 of eating next to nothing, hes been being sick and has a temperature, thankfully he is drinking. But really need to get food down him. Any tips?

So sorry to hear your little one is poorly. It’s horrid for them. Mine has just been through something similar and the doctor said don’t force it. As long as they are drinking, they will be ok. I kept a selection of snacks within easy reach (toast, crackers etc) and he picked at it when he fancied. It’s a worry but try not to let it get to you too much - mine isn’t usually that fussed about food either and he is eating like a trooper to make up for it now! Hope he gets well soon

Thankyou, I've been offering snacks and toast and things to no avail. Need to give him Neurofen as it brings his temp down quicker than calpol, so I need him to eat before I give it him. I've just given him some Blueberries and he's actually sat eating them as I type this 🙌🏻 (trying not to give him any eye contact as I know he will stop 😂) . Dry food is meant to be best isn't it but I'm just happy he's eating something and he can have his medicine. Hope my little ones eats like a trooper and makes up for it after this, it'd be a miracle 😂 x
