I have been diagnosed with PCOS since the age of 16. My cycles are longer but I do get a period between every 5-6 weeks or so however, majority of the time I bleed for a minimum of 2 weeks, sometimes even 4 weeks at a time.
Does anyone else experience this? Have you found anything that helps?
It’s exhausting! 😞

Oh my dear! I wish I had periods😭 I was diagnosed with pcos at the age of 15 and they stopped at around the age of 16. I am 26 in 2 weeks and I haven’t had any periods in nearly 10 years 😭

My cycles vary between 27 days and 80 days but I only bleed for 3-4 days. I’ve been taking inositol for about 6 weeks and already my cycle this time will be shorter as I’ve been tracking my BBT and looking at having a 35 day cycle compared to my last one which was 70 days. So hopeful it’s going to help me!

I have recently been diagnosed with PCOS after a year of issues, the first thing I have tried (which I am on month 3) is Merformin, not nice side effects but it’s helped my cycles, they are improving each month!

Hi Meera, I've just had a big fibroid removed & can sympathise with you.
Last year I bled for 256 days!
It was often for months at a time & it really shortens the time you physically can 'try' to concieve...my surgeon says now it would've been unsafe for me to get pregnant, so I'd hope you've checked with a physician.
Heavy bleeding, clots & prolonged cycles are just normal for some of us I'm afraid...tho not so common.
I'd recommend lots of iron rich foods like red meat, steak, spinach & eggs for your energy, lots & lots of fluids to keep you hydrated if you ever feel faint it's the best thing for your blood pressure. Stay away from sugar for me it made bleeding & cramps much worse.
Maybe ask about iron tablets, tranexamic / mefenamic acid if it is a heavy flow xx
