Just curious to see what people think!
I’ll start…. I’ve never met another Megan I could trust 😂 and Nevaeh bothers me because they always make sure to tell me “It’s heaven spelled backwards” lol

Arabella. I hate it. Reminds me of Rubella and makes my skin itch. I think people think it’s a posh name when in reality I think it sounds so cheap!
Also I heard on this app, ABCD being claimed to be a name pronounced ‘abcity’ which made my brain want to exit my body 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

I worked in a NICU so I have a list Neveah, faith, grace, heaven, Miracle, King, Queen, Remington, Ford, Veinna. All because I personally find them dumb or they're so over used and some almost always come with obnoxious parents

Braxton, like why would you wanna name your baby after false contractions? Don't get it.

Maddison because of a girl I went to elementary school with. She ruined the name

Nova. Not because it’s an ugly name, I think it’s beautiful, but so overused. Same with Neveah.

Me scanning here to see if my or my kids names are here 😂

Anything with -may-mae I just can’t imagine a 30 year old wanting their name to be hyphenated with may. Anything hyphenated actually but that’s just personal preference
Iv always detested the name Allie but I think that’s solely because every single main character on tv was called Allie at one period of time 😂 like there was a few years where for some reason every protagonist was called allie. It’s not an ugly name or anything- in the same category as Allie is Emma because literally every tv baby is called emma
There was a girl on tiktok who genuinely named her daughter legaseigh-royale. Said like legacy ... I love unusual names but cmon it sounds like an item from Burger King

Louis, which is sad because I actually like the name itself. But it's all the "Louie"'s who go by the spelling Louis that ruin it for me! Every time I encounter this name the pronunciation is a 50/50 gamble and seem to always get it wrong. Same with all the Steven's who spell their name "Stephen". I'm sure if it's annoying to me, it's that much more annoying to the people with those names. Why can't it just be Louie or Lewis, or Steven and Stefan/Stephan! Or just stick to the obvious 😆
Also - in general can't stand when parents invent spelling and pronunciations to make their child's name 'unique'. Please stop. Lol

Leah. She was the "mean girl" at my school. She even was the reason why I transferred schools. I have never met a Leah I liked because she ruined the name for me.

This thread is brilliant! Loving all these comments!

Richard. Every single one I’ve ever known was a useless moron.
Tasha. My husband’s ex wife’s (and step kids mother’s) name and she’s a psycho.

I am a teacher and unfortunately 19 years in schools and nurseries has ruined many names for me!

I hate any name spelled weirdly, my own included 🤣 so any jaxxons, emileigh etc… not a fan of hyphenated names, and absolutely HATE the name Sloane which I know is getting popular so I apologise if any children are called that on here!

Fruit name, like Apple, Peach, Blossom.... just why???
I work in a school so the name Tyler. (Sorry if your son/daughter as this name) but every Tyler I have worked with has been a erm.... delight. 🤣🤣

Working in education means I hate most names 🤣
Mia - it’s just too popular
Ava - again too popular
Flower names - can go away!
Kaiden/jaiden/haiden- never met a good one
I’m with you on nevaeh
Changing the spellings of names to be ‘different’ grates on me too 😖

Chloe. My actual name (kay is a nickname) is super similar but very “unique” so I always get called Chloe instead 🙃 and a girl I went to school with was named Chloe and was the biggest brat. Also dislike my name because it reminds people of e.coli. It also is a nickname for a surgery lol. So on grey’s when they talk about doing a lap cholie, the cholie is how my name is pronounced and it makes me cringe

Makayla and any variation of it, Emily, and Angelica

I just don’t like when the name is common and then parents piss around with the spelling. It just makes kids’ life harder when they grow up! For example my step mum called her kids Jaedon and Kaeleigh, they will be spelling their name out till the day they die.

Agreed with no unique spellings! Didn't like a Lydia at school so that's out (she dropped my brand new hamster!) Nor Caitlin (she was so rude to us for no reason!) My own name I don't hate but is so common (we had 5 in class at school) I'd want to try and give my kid their own name!

Redona. I don’t hear it often but when I do I’m like 🙅🏾♀️

Don’t like Angela…. I picture someone who looks how you’d picture a Karen to look, don’t know why 😆

Sarah due to a bad experience with someone with that name. I also work at a residential facility for teenage boys so there are a TON of boy names on my list from that job.

My daughter is named Aubriella and people either love or hate it

Not a fan of names that sound/are clearly made up, nor names that sound like they belong on a little dog! I’d much rather meet a little Frederick or Susan than Tinslee or Nevaeh! Even if they aren’t my style, I definitely prefer *real* names.

I don't like seeing the names
Wolfe - makes me think of an animal
Renesme - overused Twilight name.
Any name that's 4 syllables or more .. too long.
I also think middle names like Marie, and Ann, are overused when people can't think of anything else.

It’s not that I don’t like the names it’s just names like Nevaeh , Matthew, Sarah, Jennifer, John and so forth are just SUPER over used. I like unique(within reason)/older names.

I hate the new trend of giving girls traditional boy names like James and Dylan, and as a result of the trends could never give my son those names out of fear that by the time he hits school it'll be more commonly a girl name and he'll be teased for it

I’ve literally never heard Nevaeh, looks like I’ve been living under a rock! How is that even pronounced

I'm not a fan of the name Jessica just because my husband cheater on me with one while I was home taking care of our children.

Thanks Megan.... 🤦🏽♀️... I don't like Ella or names ending in Ella ( briella, ect..) they are over used. Along with Raylynn and similar names ,bralyn, jaylyn, Kaylyn.

I don't like Clint.. I think it's just bizarre...

Rachel because I’ve hated every Rachel I’ve ever met. Sorry if that’s your name, 😳 just the ones I’ve met were major bitches 🤷🏻♀️

Also used to love the name maddie but then I named a dog Maddie and now I can only think of it as a dog’s name and not a person’s name 🤭

Oooo I like this thread. Definitely not a thread for the easily offended.
So I hate ridiculous spellings of normal names. I understand wanting to choose a name that isn't overly common but this modern urge to have a "unique" name sends people spiralling into the crazy pit. In a similar vein I hate random words pulled from the dictionary and used as names.
I also hate overly cute names or having the cutesy nn as the "full name" on the birth certificate. Babies are babies for such a short length of time. We're going to end up with a generation of adults doing everything from body building to supreme court lawyer with cutesy little names. Want to call your baby Albie, great, but put Albert on the birth certificate. Want to call your baby Lottie, great, but put Charlotte on the birth certificate.

Aurora.
I find it so difficult to say..my tongue has to twist uncomfortably to say it😂

Ralph. Reminds me of the crack child from Ed Ed and eddy lmao.

Katie ugh my sister is a Katie/Kathleen and everyone I have met other then my sister acts just like her very selfish, self absorbed and just flat out rude. There like a Karen's evil sister.

I have tons of names on my list but that’s what happens when you are a teacher. One kid and you shudder at that name for the rest of our life.

I hate most celebrity kids names

Ella-May / Ella-Mae 🤦♀️😖 and most double barrel forenames for that matter..

Anything with Leigh at the end

I have so many, but my main hated names are Heather, Heidi, Arabella, and Rachel 😅

This is going to be a very unpopular opinion, it's not so much that I hate the name, it's a nice name I'm just so bored of hearing it - Olivia (sorry not sorry) it just feels like every other person I know who has a baby calls it Olivia 😂

Dwayne 🤢

Love that this thread is still going strong!
I’m UK-based and I have an American friend know who recently named their baby boy Gordon!
I just can’t…..Baby Gordon is just too cruel

This is so funny 😂 I completely agree!

Brayden and Braylen or anything along those lines.
