Hey I went to the GP today as baby wasn't feeling well, she's been vomiting, having diarrhea and she had a temperature.
They said to just monitor her and keep her hydrated.
I given her calpol and I'm breastfeeding.
I was thinking to give baby girl some sips of water.
Has anyone done this? Any advice on how to help baby recover?

Hi I exclusively breastfeed and give my little one cooled boiled water..

We try to give it every other day as it helps his stomach.. about 1/2 ounce u can put a little brown sugar in too which we do and it does help settle his stomach .. for a temperature the baby class teacher said to make sure their feet are uncovered no idea why but apparently it helps x

Hi Merci, sorry to hear babe is unwell but exclusively breastfed babies don't need any water until they've started eating solid foods. Your milk is plenty to hydrate and your breast milk contains antibodies, white blood cells, stem cells and protective enzymes that fight infections and may help with healing. It's literally medicine! If you feed with water there's a chance you will fill their tummy but with just water and not the amazing milk instead. 💕 Hope this helps

Definitely don't need to give breastfed babies any water as breast milk is full of what baby needs.... Nothing else

When mine had diarrhea the doc said she could have pedialyte. The nurse said try to give about as much as I see in terms of diarrhea.
