5 days late and still negative, losing hope

Has anyone ever had good news after taking a test after being 5 days late? I’m still testing negative and I’ve never been late before so I’m starting to worry. It’s so difficult staying positive but it was hard enough with regular periods never mind if I’m now not going to be able to plan my ovulations etc. this is the first time I’ve ever been late so it was difficult not to get our hopes up Thanks
