Is skin peeling normal?

My 10 days old baby has peeling skin like this on hands and tummy.

Should I be concerned and use something on it?

I would say it's normal. Because thier skin is getting used to being on dry land instead of being in water all the time. Unless it's irritated or red I wouldn't use anything on it. But always make sure to let the doctor know because sometimes they would want to know every detail. At least that's what I do. Specially in the beginning

it's 100% normal, let it naturally peel! ❤️ your baby is just shedding into their new skin.

Yep, my overdue baby came out with peeling feet & hands, and eventually after a few more days, forehead (to her eyelids) tummy and back. Doc said it was normal, just a bit of dry skin as well. So just religiously put lotion on your little one. I put lotion on her hands and legs every nappy change so I don't forget. Just a little extra step.

And only use soap in the bath once a week. Preferably bath once a week as well if possible, and then you can gradually bath her more once her skin is getting better.

My LO is now 6 weeks old, no more peeling, except the lower forehead to eyelids area. I bathe her everyday now before bed time, and I use Pipette lotion on her.

Completely normal. It will go on it’s own.

Hello Sash, Skin peeling in children for first few months is normal.... I had been there with my child too.... just ensure the baby's skin is kept moisturise with natural oil thats suits the baby ... organic virgin coconut oil was very good for my baby.
