My story, maybe it will help motivate 💕

Hello my name is Kristina. I went through liver failure due to alcoholism at the age of 32, I had been drinking for 11 years at that time. I now live with stage 4 liver disease which is cirrhosis.
I had tried to quit many times, but failed over and over. Till I was faced with life or death if I were to have another drink. Let me tell you, there’s no greater motivation than that!
Had I known what was coming for me, that I would be the only one in my ENTIRE family of alcoholics, to get cirrhosis. I would have listened to my teenage self and never started drinking.
I’m now 4 years sober, and I can’t even begin to express how much better life is. I’m finally on medication for bi-polar disorder, depression and anxiety which I had suffered from my entire life. The sky’s are blue for the first time ever, such a weight has lifted with this second chance on life.
My marriage of about 20 years has never been better, and now we’re expecting our first and only kid due at the end of the month.
I’ve shorted my lifespan, I can’t take back what I’ve done and I don’t know how long I’ll have to live because of my actions. I don’t live in the past at all though, every day is a new day and a new chance at life.
I’m no longer controlled by the urge to drink, the pull to the bottle and bars. It makes vacations so much more fun not having that weight.
