You'll need to get her hearing and vision checked regularly. And pay close attention to her milestones. CMV can cause progressive hearing loss and it may not start until later on.
My daughter was born perfectly healthy (maybe a tad on the small side) and she passed her newborn hearing screening. As she got older, we started seeing delays in her gross motor skills (she didn't walk in her own until 2 yrs old) and she's very behind on communication. It wasn't until just before she turned 5 that she failed a hearing test given by the school. She was almost completely deaf in one ear. Over the next 6 months, her "good ear" lost about half of its hearing. We had never hear of CMV until we got MRI of her brain results back describing "mild nonspecific changes consistent with CMV."
She 9 now an her hearing has been stable the last couple years. But I wish she would have been tested for CMV at birth. That way we could have caught the hearing issues early.
