My temperature has been crawling up to a dangerous number rather quickly. Over the past week and weekend my 5 year old step son and BF were fighting something akin to the flu based on the symptoms. I of course have now developed symptoms of the same illness that they were fighting.
My question is, how can I cool my baby down?? Break this fever?? I don’t want to take Tylenol.
Any advice??

How can I cool my body down***

Take a cool bath. I've also taken Tylenol with 4 out of my 5 kids and none of the have any issues at all. That may help as well.

Take a cool bath, or wrap a ice pack in a towel and put it on your lower back, cold wet face cloth on your head. Also, call 811 to talk to a nurse practitioner, they'll let you know when you should seek medical attention and they're open 24/7. You need your care card handy.

Tylenol, cool wash rag. And Tylenol is safe for pregnancy. If it gets higher you need to take something like Tylenol the hospital will tell you the same thing.

I don’t have any advice just came to say hope you feel somewhat better soon as damn by that temp you must feel feeling icky.

I think you need to go to the emergency room xx

i say go to the er… they say after 101 or 102 it could cause harm to the baby !! just to be safe and prevent anything , i say go❤️

Cleveland Clinic links to a couple different studies here. https://health.clevelandclinic.org/pregnancy-does-acetaminophen-heighten-risks-for-autism-adhd/amp/
Most of the studies have inconclusive results or the correlation is only seen with long-term use of acetaminophen. One study specified that this is fewer than 8 days. You can browse through the different studies linked though to get an idea of what different studies considered “prolonged use”. Cleveland Clinic also points out that **none** of the studies took into consideration environmental factors, maternal age, or genetic factors. Problematic.
Fever can cause a wide range of very serious health conditions for your unborn child, including raising chance by 1.5-3 times for cleft palate, congenital heart defects, and neural tube defects in the first trimester.
TL;DR: Tylenol is way less risky than fever, and is widely considered the safest fever reducer in pregnancy. Please rethink your stance here.

I got covid with my last pregnancy and my temp without Tylenol hit 103, and I went to the er and they gave me Tylenol. They said I should’ve taken it at 101 for the baby’s sake. Tylenol is completely safe for pregnancies! You need to take it! I know you don’t want to, but it’s better to take it now then risk anything happing to your baby!

Yeah it’s still going up

I’m waiting for my BF to get here to take me

Had Covid while pregnant and was at 102.5, took Tylenol and it helped!

Go to er hun. It's rising dangerous high really fast

Having a fever while pregnant is super dangerous. I was sick two weeks ago - my doctor knows Tylenol worries me because of the recent studies, but she said if my fever even reached 100 I absolutely HAD to take it or I would risk seriously damaging my baby.
Hospital will 1000000 percent give you Tylenol so I would suggest taking it immediately to get that fever down asap

Stay hydrated, take Tylenol and go to the Er!

You should call a nurse line and ask what is safe that isn’t acetaminophen based.

My temp got to 103.47

I took 1
500mg “Equate” acetaminophen

it's genetic stop scaring mothers. There is no correlation. It's fear mongering.

I would go to the ER at this point to be safe

lmfao as someone who can only take Tylenol you are 110% wrong. I am seen by Neurologist and they said it is absolutely fine idk who started that rumor but that’s all it is is a rumor autism is a genetic mutation that is passed down. Please stop spreading misinformation and scaring mothers

autism is genetic. You are completely wrong. Stop trying to scare people away from using it. Tylenol is completely safe during and after pregnancy.

Nonetheless, even if you are fearful of Tylenol- you should be way more fearful of a fever. That study does not specify that taking Tylenol on occasion does any harm. It’s saying prolonged use.
Tylenol is a very necessary medication at times and should be used when you have a fever!

pull up a conclusive study from a hospital that says yes Tylenol gives your baby autism it’s literally a genetic trait that is passed down from family.

and there was also a lawsuit on McDonald’s because someone was stupid enough to drink coffee fresh from the pot and didn’t think they’d get burned just because there’s a lawsuit DOESNT mean that they know all

I have autism. And my mom never used Tylenol with me. So explain why we all have autism including my mother and 3 other siblings
One word genetics. You can take Tylenol everyday and still no autism. It's like taking baby aspirin daily. There is no correlation. It's strictly in a person genetic code.

like I said pull up the studies that were done from a hospital that says if you use Tylenol you will give your baby autism there is literally not on study from a hospital that will say that

there is not one artical from a hospital that say there is a conclusive answer that Tylenol gives your baby autism

i am perfectly calm people just don’t understand that it’s genetic it isn’t because you take Tylenol you’ll give your baby autism
Did you know doctors also said that blowing tobacco smoke in someone’s butt would bring them back to life that’s where we get blowing smoke out of your ass from
They believed that if you drank or ate human flesh it would make you stronger

autism is 100% genetics nothing more. Believe what you want but op has a serious fever she needs to take care of. So right now Tylenol is her best option regardless. The hospital will give her the same thing if she goes to the ER

okay why do ERS and hospitals give pregnant women Tylenol for fevers headaches body aches and so much more? Don’t you think if it was hurting the mother or baby that they would offer something else? Why do they give it to baby’s for fevers or teething or an upset tummy?

highly genetically heterogeneous that is literally a direct quote from the last study you shared

Still, the data do not show that acetaminophen use directly contributes to autism direct quote from the last study you shared

I did and both of them sssid that they do not show direct contributes to autism and literally all of those are NOT hospitals study’s they are articles taking bits and pieces from the hospital study

they aren’t quotes half of them don’t even cite the hospital 😂😂 they are bloggers that are take whatever they read and writing about it just like you are but go head believe what you will but as someone who works in the healthcare and regularly sees neurologist and neuro scientists who say there is literally no connecting I’ll just keep up with the facts look at literally all the people who thing vaccines give kids autism and study after study say there is literally no connections
But I digress you believe what you will

Oh mama I’m praying for you and your baby! Get well soon love ❤️

thank you sweetheart ❤️

girl you gotta chill lol
My doc told me not to take it unless for emergencies like fever.
Docs also recommended smoking cigarettes at some point in time…
New studies come out and more and more people get educated…
Welcome to science lol

So I did end up taking some off brand Tylenol because my temp got up to 103 and my BF wasn’t here yet. After a few hours it has dropped to 100.00.
Still feel crappy but now nearly as bad

Not nearly**

Glad to hear that girl! Fevers are no joke
Feel better and def be seen by a doc and keep that fever at bay!

so glad you’re feeling better mama ! if it keeps rising i’d say go to the hospital because a fever could indicate there’s possibly an infection in your body<3 take care of yourself lovely

Get better momma wishing you the best

Thank you ladies

I appreciate the help!

there is no need to be rude and cuss at other women. That will not be tolerated on here.

bro I'm autistic. What more research do I need to do. I live it daily. I struggle daily. And no it wasn't Tylenol my mom had it and it was passed down.
Good job on taking Tylenol. That's probably what helped your fever get reduced. Keep it up and if not better tomorrow or it spikes again please see your doctor. Fever mixed with pregnancy is not good. Especially that high.

My Dr office told me to take some baby aspirin and alternate with tylenol when I had covid a few months back to help with fever (I was at about 101.5 the first day) and body aches. I hope your fever stays down and that you feel better soon

Faith has been shared with the ambassadors of peanut for her vulgar language since I can’t find the admins of this page.

the fact is. Who the hell uses Tylenol daily. Come on now. That's setting them up for failure. This is a one time thing to keep a fever down. In this case. Her baby will not be autistic. But will survive because she took the Tylenol
