Baby hates all carriers and slings- help!

My baby is 10 weeks old and was Diddy at birth so it took us a while to be able to use the Freerider wrap I'd bought. My friend kindly gave me a baby bjorn too. She hates both of them so I just spent a small fortune on an artipoppe carrier and can barely get her sat in it before she starts hysterically screaming! Am I doing something wrong? Do you think it's hurting her or that she just doesn't like being restricted? I've adjusted both carriers to her correct size. If she's sleepy I can get her in any of them and she'll happily snooze but she wakes up absolutely screaming and my fear is if I leave the house with her in it and she has a fit halfway through a dog walk I am screwed! Anyone experienced similar or have any tips or ideas of why she is so upset?

Do you have a sling library or sling consultant near you? Something probably needs tweaking. If there aren't any near you, some sling consultants do online consults for as low as £5 for 15mins.

Baby Wearing UK is a great facebook group to join. You can upload photos of you wearing baby and some experts might be able to give you advice.

Thanks so much Thao- I'll have a look online and see if there's anything available locally like you've suggested and then if not I'll try to get some virtual help! 😊 I'm so sad it's not working out, I had visions of us walking the dogs together etc thinking it would be great!

from my experience (not an expert) but i wear my baby a lot (we have an active dog that needs 2 walks a day) and an active member of said group, babies love slings/ carriers. So if they are fussy, something might be wrong somewhere...

Yeah I feel bad for my dogs as I've been unable to take them out on decent walks since she's been born as I can only manage one at a time with the pram and can't access the field I usually take them to with it! Would love to get out and about with my hands free.

My baby is not even 4 days old and loves to roll on his left side to sleep.

No matter how many time I correct him back on his back he still rolls over. Should I be concerned? His bassinet isn’t wide enough for him to fully roll. When he side lays he can’t go farther than that.

First birthday party timing

What’s the best timing for a first birthday party? (Garden party at home)
Currently 9.5m old, on 2 naps roughly 9 & 13:00. Thinking 11:00-14:00? Is it likely they will drop to 1 nap by then?

Health visitors

I’m just wondering if any of your health visitors have made you feel like you’re not doing a good job as a mum by asking questions?

At what age did your baby start using pillows and duvet?

Perhaps a silly question, but as a FTM, I'm not sure when I should introduce my baby to sleep with a pillow and duvet. He is going to turn 12 months soon and that thought just came to my mind- I have no idea when it should happen!

What tog number is the recommend one?
