Toddler Bed

We took the side off the cot once my son could jump out. For us that was 2.5 years old! He could’ve stayed in there like that for longer but we switched to a proper toddler bed because I’m pregnant again and we want to reuse the cot. We transitioned early so our little one didn’t see it as linked to new baby.

Never had a cot, just has a toddler bed at floor level that can be raised when she gets bigger 😊 (ikea kura bed)

A month after my daughter turned 3 (the sides come off the toddler bed).

Never had a cot for our little girl, she went straight into a single bed when she was 1

Mine went in her own bed at 1 as she was climbing out her cot and throwing herself over 😂

I’ve heard a lot of things about this; 1. If they’re climbing out of the cot it can be a good time, 2. If you can wait until they’re nearly 3 years old they have better self control at staying in a bed, 3. Get them used to a duvet and pillow in the cot first, so transition to bed is easier… my daughter has just turned 2 so we’re preparing for this now!

I used a cot bed as a toddler bed but I was in a one bed flat at the time and she eventually just slept in with me but the bed was always there until she was 4/5 when we moved and she had a mid sleeper bed x

Got rid of the cot at 9 months

My son is 2.5 & still in cot.
I am going to keep him in it until he gives me a reason to change to a bed !
I say keep as long as you can until they decide to jump out or something🤔

Only had a crib for a couple months before switching to a floor bed at 4 months

We had a cot bed for both girls- eldest went into her "toddler" bed at 18 months. Now with my youngest i just recently changed the cot into a bed- she can easily get off our bed and that so thought having her cot turned into a bed will let her kind of experience having her bed as well- we are bedsharing still anyway so her little bed is right against our bed... my youngest is 16 months next week
