Sleep training 🥲

Our night schedule: Supper at the table as a family (5:30-6) Bath or shower (6- 6:15) Lotion, PJs, teeth brush, etc (6:15-6:30/45) Play in room with soft music/ read a story (6:45-7:15) Bottle with cuddles and try to put her to bed. (This can take 15 minutes up to 2 hours) My babe use to be able to sleep from being put down until 2:30 am sometimes 4 am. And ever since 7 months she is lucky to sleep two hours at a time. At first I thought it was because her teeth coming in, then sleep regressions as she’s learning so much. But now we are almost at 11 months and i just can’t seem to get her to sleep through the night for nothing. I’m not a fan of the cry it out method. I understand why other people do it, and it does work, I just don’t feel comfortable doing it. Always say I will but then can’t listen to cry that long. Any tips for getting babes to sleep through the night? We are getting to the point that it just feels easier to co-sleep but that is making it impossible to have intimate time with my spouse plus I just would love a solid sleep for once…

Hi Ashlea, this is expert advice. It must be very frustrating for you when you have done everything perfectly on your behalf but the baby still not sleeping through the night. The routine seems perfect to me but looks like a baby having a harder time linking her sleep cycles independently. Need to consider her day schedule (2-3 sleep in 2 naps) to ensure that she is overtired at bedtime or not. Also, sleep training does not endorse only CIO methods. I have helped many families even co-sleep babies as well to start sleeping 10-12 hours stretches by night 3 using the gentlest and most responsive methods. If you wanna learn more about my approach then lmk :)

@Rav during the day she has two naps both lasting an hour. Awake windows are around 3 hours (sometimes 2.5 sometimes close to 4, depending on her mood). Even those naps she is doing contact sleep so maybe I should just start putting her in the crib for those? I would love to learn more

Okay!!! At this age set schedule works best as babies love consistent and predictable nap and bedtime routine. This is the best time to put her on independent sleep habits before it becomes a habit at toddler age. She also requires at least 2.5-2.25 hour day sleep in 2 naps to prevent baby from overtiredness. Try increasing the Awake windows as well. 3/3.5/4 works well. But when I customize the sleep plan then I access the baby’s temperament, age, sleep needs and personality to establish appropriate planning. Would you like to have 101 zoom call to discuss in detail and learn about my approach?
