LO Refusing their one nap

Has anyone recently experienced their LO refusing their one nap? He’s sleeping well at daycare and then on the weekends he won’t go down. He’s yawning, showing other signs of sleep to come but won’t give in. This has been going on for the last few weekends. I hope this is a phase but my mind spirals thinking that this is ultimately affecting his development long term😢

Yes! You’re not alone. My baby girl is refusing all naps. For 1.5 weeks now. Two days I took her for a drive to get 30 minute naps. She’s tired, grumpy but just ready to party

I've heard there's an 18 month regression (although if you google, it seems there's a regression each month so take it for what it's worth 😐) but nap refusal is a part of it apparently. Hopefully it doesn't last too long 🤞

@Laura ah! The car ride! He definitely sleeps in the car. Thanks for the good reminder. Hoping we won’t always have to do that but at least we know it works. Some shuteye is better than none. Sounds like our kids are the same. He is ready to party near nap time and sometimes bedtime 🤯

@Shannon so true about the regressions! Thanks for the support.

I used a sleep consultant and they are awesome at explaining what is happening and working out all the kinks! This is the one I used amberssleepconsulting.com
