@Kristina I appreciate the response. Thank you!! As a first time. I don’t know what to expect them to have or not. So yes I’ll be packing everything and more now 😂 & Congratulations!! 🎉 how was your delivery there?
Hey Mama! I gave birth there in 2021, they did give me a peri bottle and a few disposable undies. Some new born Similac… I don’t remember them giving too much more
Thank you so much for the feedback! It seems every hospital is so different. And this is one that gives you the bare minimum. I’ll try and be prepared
Yes I can say… research stuff on the healing, most first time moms tear…. There are things you can do to try and lessen the likelihood of that…. But in case you do…. Have all the items to help! Get stool softener!!! Thank me later 🫣
@Dion my experience for labor was amazing. I was induced and labored for 22 hours before having a c section. Every labor nurse was amazing and it made my entire experience very calm to go through. FTM here too. Postpartum was a bit different. Not a lot of help with baby and breastfeeding.
@Kristina righttt postpartum without help is very difficult
@Kristina this is Amazing to hear because I was getting concerned about centenary. But that’s where my midwife is affiliated with. Thank you for sharing. I don’t have much of a village either. Single mom as is
@Chel oh gosh. I can only imagine. And there probably more to it then I can think of. I planned to stay at my mother home right afterwards. But she’s retired and I dont expect too much help due to her age. I tried to tell her I wanted a Frida mom pack and what it does. She was just confused and said she didn’t have that her day 😂
@Dion she sounds like my mom 😄 Mine kept telling me “ you don’t need an epidural…I had 4 of you and tore every time” …. 🫣 I did it my way… got epidural immediately lol And because I had little help and like no sleep… I would really recommend joining LifeTime, it’s so worth it…. I met so many moms there, who would just go to shower relax and have someone else look after baby for awhile
They have couches you can sit and bring your laptop, or work out …
What is LifeTime?
@Kristina what other stuff would people typically look for to bring/get?
@Tania it’s a gym in Ajax, a little pricey but they can care for your baby/toddler at least 2 hours a day… I have been to the location in Mississauga it’s bigger definitely not as nice as Ajax…. LifeTime Ajax is also so much nicer than any GoodLife …. In the summer it’s AMAZING like a resort, but also if you try to join just before the summer it cost more( lots of ppl just try and join for the outdoor pool)
This was @ Mississauga…

@Chel oh ok ok by Salem. I'll look into it
Thanks
This is the outdoor pool @ Ajax LifeTime
Lol nice
@Chel lol I don’t blame you. I’m not one for the pain and ima ask for mine too!! Anything to ease the labour process. & thanks for the recommendation, I haven’t heard of lifetime. But I’m definitely interested. Seem like a good getaway to get a break. Kingston rd goes right out to Ajax so it’s not too far anyways
@Dion yes , or if you decide to take the highway it’s not far from Salem exit
I did not really have the best experience, but thats long story hahaha :P I was lucky I bought myself a peri bottle and adult diapers since they never gave me any( did get 1 disposable diaper from them tho )!!! They were great for baby things! Still bring your own tho since I used all the wipes and diapers before I left after the 24hrs giving birth.
@Jennifer oh wow. That’s scarce treatment. When was this ?
Not too long ago actually!! This was in August 2022
@Jennifer well thank you for sharing. Definitely adding things to my bag just in case.
I just gave birth at Centenary in January. The hospital didnt give much when it came to the baby. Bring your own diaper, wipes and baby outfits. Even for yourself bring everything. They give you postpartum underwear and pads and a peri bottle. The labor staff are amazing. Dont be afraid to ask for help.
