Medela and mam are good bottles for bf babies.
@Nicole Thank you!! I’ve heard lots about the Dr brown ones☺️ Do you have to warm breast milk up the same way you do with formula? If so would I need a bottle warmer for going out? X
@Alexandria Thank you☺️
I use mam bottles which are the only ones my baby will take. I will pump in the morning when my partner gives the bottle for the next day and then just leave the bottle in the fridge (lasts 6 days in the fridge) Earlier on I just used a haakaa on the other side to build up a bottle and once I did that I just pump the missed feed. We usually take the bottle out the fridge for 10 mins before feed but don’t properly warm up, you just need to use the bottle within 2 hours once taken out. Yesterday I went out for a few hours and just pumped about 30 mins after her feed and my partner used that for her next feed so it was fresh as it lasts 4-6 hours at room temp fresh xx
For my baby Mam bottles all the way! It depends where you go but you can take a foldable bowl and ask for some boiled water and put the bottle in it. Not sure for outdoor trips, but last I went out I just warmed it up a bit more, put it in aluminium foil, then wrapped it in a small towel and kept it between his clothes in the bag.
@Jodie Thank you so much, that is super helpful! I think I’m going to give some bottle feeds a go now that I have all of the info I need☺️xx
@Andrea I have seen a fair few people recommend mam bottles so I think I’ll give those a go. Thank you for the tips x
Mam bottles
MAM bottles x
I’ve tried my breastfed baby on dr brown, Mam, nuk and lansinoh and he only seems to like Mam!
I'm ebf but give a bottle about once a week. Been using a mam bottle and baby takes it fine although she defp prefers the boob! They ate good because you can sterilise in the microwave and don't need a steriliser. I just use a haaka to catch let down. You don't have to warm it up, it's fine to drink straight from the fridge but my baby makes the funniest faces if it's cold so I just run it in the bag under the hot tap for 30s or so. You could always try taking it in the bag inside a flask which should keep it warm? I haven't tried a bottle when I'm out yet so I'm not sure x
I freeze my milk and then thaw it out in a bowl of hot water, it doesn't take long at all! I use tommee tippee bottles that came with the steriliser but I've heard mam and Dr brown are good too x
