The hospital gave me one too!
Oh really, I had my birthplan call today and she said about hiring one. Maybe there are a limited amount. With my daughter I had one given to me in hospital and I think it helped (maybe placebo but anything will do when in pain!!)
I had one through my Labour and it was amazing! I bought one from Boots which was like £25!
