Potty training

Does anyone have a late potty trainer, like me? It's been a back and forth battle, nothing consistent.

She's 2.5 and will be 3 in July.

We just started the process this past weekend. I have a newborn as well so it's very hard to be consistent and strict about it

Me! My daughter has a speech delay so we’ve been working on that and getting better at communicating before talking potty training. I bought the Little big feelings 3 day potty training course to use when it’s time!

We tried a week ago and my son wasn’t ready. He just screams and stands up from the toilet just to poop on the floor right in front of it. So we’re going to try in a couple weeks. My son is also 2.5, 3 in July.

My son also has been on and off

Sames! I have twin boys and it’s just hard keeping up with their routine and making sure they get equal attention. So much commitment it’s tiring 😮‍💨

I feel like I'm just always working and can't dedicate too much time to it but he has pooped once in his potty but pees more in it. He still doesn't like letting us know when he wants to go so it's also hard 😅 even asking him every few minutes doesn't help because he says no but already went in his diaper😭

Yes! She was starting to want to and then we had our son and went backwards away from pull ups to traditional style diapers as she wants baby diapers 🤦‍♀️

No luck here.... just bought some training underwear so will try that soon and see if it helps

So my son will pee and poop in the potty on his own when he has no pants on. We put underwear, pants or pull ups and he just pees or poops in them. Our doc said he just isn’t ready. Keep him pantless when you can so he is practicing. The less pressure the better.

@Becky my son regressed when I brought our new baby home too

@Ashley my son is speech delayed as well. Have you checked out Ms Rachel on YouTube? We started watching her maybe 2 months ago my son has picked up 2-3 words and had learned some sign language as well

@Lauren yes! She’s also working with a speech pathologist which has really helped!

this thread is so encouraging to know other mommas are having similar experiences because girllllll, potty training is a job damn near lol.

We are 2.5 and going to start here soon. I had tried last year and he wasn’t ready. I would have already started but we thought we were moving and I didn’t want to get that all messed up at once. I need to get over my nerves lol

I'm so glad to hear that I'm not alone. Thank you for all the responses, ladies. Just ordered the potty watch, training pants, and a new portable potty seat. I hope something works because she'll be doing good for a while, and then it just becomes sporadic.

She's officially potty trained. It happened within 1.5 months before her 3rd birthday. There's hope, ladies!

👏🏾👏🏾 congrats girl. any words of wisdom that you felt made a difference?

The best thing I did was put her in training underwear. No diapers or pull-ups, except for nightime. Also, she showed me she was more ready. Just be patient about the #2s. She was really scared for a while. Keep cleaning the messes up, no reaction, just encouragement. Small rewards helped, too!
