Husband lied about going to a strip club

I saw in his group chat (he thought I wasn’t looking) about how they all ended up in a strip club in London. I don’t have a problem with him going to strip clubs, I do however have a problem with the fact he hid it when I asked him about his night. If he lied about going anywhere I would be suspicious, I suppose the fact it’s a strip club is beside the point to be fair! Would you be annoyed?

I would be upset because he lied. It would automatically make me think he lies about other things if he’s willing to lie about something that I wouldn’t have a problem with

Men lie when they’re worried about your reaction. Over years I’ve told my partner not to lie. I won’t be mad just don’t lie (excluding cheating cause I’ll be done with him). And now he will be comfortable telling me things like that. I would confront him in a gentle way and say you know and ask why he felt he couldn’t tell you and what to do different next time

Hopefully y’all can have a conversation and speak about why he lied and it’s only because he was worried you’d be upset about the strip club and not something else.

Yes. I would be furious about him lying- that’s a boundary violation in my relationship.

If he hasn't lied I wouldn't mind. But the fact he lied is worrying. Do you have existing insecurities? If he had asked would you have been happy with him going? X x

@Alex yeah he’s not even had to ask, he’s a grown man if he wants to go he can. He certainly doesn’t need my permission and hasn’t on previous visits for friends birthdays etc
