You are not alone. A lot of Moms struggling with this.
Thank you both. What helps you get through this?
I know it’s hard but try and go out and find things to do, go for a coffee or a lunch, or go to the park and sit on a bench. The more you stay in the more your overthinking and the problem becomes all consuming. Xxx
I’m in the same boat! I am 21 weeks pp and I keep wondering “when will I be able to dance again? Or jog? Or skip down the stairs?” I’ve been in PT for maybe 8 weeks and I am noticing some slow improvements. Hang in there! This journey is so tough but you will get through it.
Sorry for the late reply. What helps me is seeing a physio therapist, I am trying to work on the pelvic floor exercises she has assigned not easy but checking in with the pt on a regular can assure you if you are on track or not. I am not but determined not to give up just yet. Finding out that prolapse is pretty common has actually helped me a bit. Knowing other women have gone through this as well helps a bit. Also this one is very very hard but trying to not have negative self talk. We can't add to it. I say all of this yet I am human and I struggle too. I assume you have made the first step and see a pt. So give yourself credit you are on track and it isn't hopeless. ❤
Stage 2 here as well. It feels awful to not be at the level of fitness/activity I once was. Or to be able to keep up with other moms who are at the same time in their postpartum journey who are getting back to fitness. But: I’m nine months pp and went for a 5.5-mile hike yesterday. I’m trying to celebrate wins, big and small (the hike was a big win for me!). Some days are still bad; I’m not able to do much if any physical activity and my husband has to do most of the lifting/carrying of our son. But I’ve come so far after strength training 2x/week, pt once a week, and gradually building up my walking. It won’t always be like this. Take every day one step at a time ❤️
I had a stage 2 bladder prolapse at 12 weeks pp and fast forward a year and I was symptom free. I now run again and weight train 2-3 times a week. I can recommend a free support group on FB called the Pelvic Power Movement Community x
@Charlotte do you wear a pessary? Has your prolapse completely reversed or is the symptoms just gone?
You’re not alone. Also stage 2 first time mum and the days are so hard when you’re not well and navigating motherhood. But you arnt alone!!
