baths while pregnant?

i’ve heard taking baths are bad while pregnant because the baby could overheat but I’m just curious if there’s a certain temperature and or a certain time you can be in the bath without it being harmful?

There is a certain temperature they say is safe I believe it’s as long as you aren’t heating your body above 38 degrees Celsius it is safe however that means the bath is only warm, I have spoke to people who have the bath a bit warmer and always drink cold water and have airflow so they aren’t steaming I would also probably recommend limiting bath time to 20 minutes.
I still have my showers boiling and happily stand in them for 10-15 minutes sometimes and bubs has been fine I just keep a bottle of cold water in bathroom to drink at same time x

Oh god I have super hot baths for hours 😱 should I be worried

i would definitely ask your doctor and do some research, i know very hot baths can over heat ur body and the baby could overheat as well, just wasn’t sure on the temperature that’s considered safe and the time frame to be in the bath💕

I literally have a bath pretty much every day it's bad habit 😂 I just love baths. I'm 13 weeks and have been doing it since I basically was pregnant and honestly I've had no problems but I had done it to where it's not hot on your elbow like when you do the test on your elbow if that makes sense.

I would check with OB or Midwife, as they say that we should also avoid Saunas, Spas and steam rooms along with excessive work out doors as we can overheat our bodies which can overheat baby.

I always take longer hot baths. I don't make them as hot as I used to but they are pretty warm. I get out if I start to overheat and I also keep a cold water bottle next to me so I can drink that too. I take baths pretty much every day at least once a day. Both my OB and midwife recommend baths and Epsom salt baths to help with the pregnancy aches and pains.

I'd take hot baths like crazy because my pelvis and public area hurt so...badly I could hardly walk. But, I'd take a huge jug of ice water with me as not to overheat

I had problems conceiving and was told to avoid raising my body temperature so no baths, hot tubs etc. I was so paranoid that I didn’t have baths. Although saying thy I have my showers really hot and I’m in them for 15/20 minutes

i’m 18w and i probably take 3-4 baths a week, in pretty hot water, but i limit it to about 15 mins of soaking just in case. but i do recommend asking your doctor

I'm 35 weeks and had a bath last night.... Depending on how deep your bath is, I had to keep topping mine up with hot water as my legs, bump and boobs stuck out wayyy above the surface anyway 🙄 so was cold and not enjoyable anyway 😅

I read everybody comments and I didn’t think taking a hot bath was a problem I know I can’t sit there for too long but still I love a hot bath.

Also I be getting in a hot tub too but I don’t stay in too long I’ll probably be in for 10 mins.

I’m 2.5 weeks postpartum. I used to have weekly baths when pregnant. I bought a baby bath thermometer and made sure to keep the temperature below 38 degrees celsius. The thermometer is now used for bathing my son.

my doctors told me baths should be no more than 37 degrees. which isn't actually very enjoyable as it's not warm enough, so I just don't bother 😩

I would not take the chance of overheating your body just because others have turned out to be fine. If this was the case, ( every baby being fine ) then there wouldn’t be a warning against spas, hot baths / showers. It’s there for a reason, to protect your bubs. If it’s something you can do to protect bubs that little bit more, why not do it? Just personal opinion. If the water raises your temperature it’s too hot.
Baths are perfectly fine, I would just stick with warm with a cold bottle of water with you. Nothing to raise body temperature because bubs could get stressed. Please don’t do anything that’s advised not to just because others have been fine, there are babies out there who were not fine.
