SMA Alfamino
Our paediatrician said that it is time to switch from Aptamil Pepti 1 to SMA Alfamino. Has anyone tried it? Is your baby happy with it? When did you start noticing positive improvement?
My little one has eczema, constipation (when she poos its only with mucus), lots of gas pain, and horrible reflux 😭

It took a good for weeks for my little girl, she improved for a few days, got worse and after sticking with it a few weeks she was like a different baby
we're on alfamino, but it's a diff manufacturer bc i'm in the us. it's worked wonders for my baby though! eczema cleared up with a little help from a dermatologist, reflux is slowly going away and we're down to one reflux med now (previously on 3) and we do a daily probiotic to help the constipation. the gas and everything else is gone, and she's happy as can be now. i wanna say it took like 3 weeks to see noticeable improvement in the fussing/crying in pain. it can take 2+ weeks for the new formula to work and the milk to leave their system so it may seem like it's going nowhere before it gets better
We’ve been on it since 7 weeks old, she is now 8 months. I would say we started to see improvements after a couple of weeks but 8 weeks before she was fully settled. Our peadeatrician said it can take 10 weeks to fully settle x
We've been using it for about 3/4 months now, it took some convincing to get my daughter to drink it, the first couple of days were challenging. But it has helped massively, way less vomiting, and she's in a lot less pain
You can only try it to see if there is some improvement, as that already gives information to the Drs. There are different aminoacid formulas if you wanted another one (puramino, neocate). If you decide not to take the alfamino, I would be happy to have any spare tubs.
Alfamino was our magic milk, took about 10 days but after that we had a different baby
At first it flared my daughters acid reflux up so much, and it took a good 6 weeks to start to see improvements. After 2-3 months all of her symptoms were gone and she was like a different baby so stick with it!
I’ve just started my daughter on it as Neocate still wasn’t working for her but after 1 day alfamino her rash seems to have come back, has anyone else experienced this?
