Bath Anxiety

My daughter just recently has had an all out panic attack when I try to give her a bath. She cries and grabs onto me for dear life. Then when I finally got her in the bath she kept standing up and grabbing at me crying. I don't know what caused it or how to help her. Any advice or similar situations?

Can you try and take a bath with her like get in the tub with her? Show her it’s ok

Did you recently move her into the big tub? Or did she choke on water recently?

Omg I had the same with my son yesterday. He was shaking and crying like there was a monster inside😬 and I am the only one who gives him bath and I know for sure there was no accident happened in the bath before. Google saying it is part of development 🙄

We have this problem too. It started out of nowhere after she began to LOVE baths. We tried small amount of water, only running water, small plastic bathtubs, etc. Come to find out she loves the water, just as showers. So she and I take showers together. She likes to closeness and it's so easy to get her to cooperate this way. I know it isn't going to work for everyone but it works for us

Mine isn't terrified, but he used to live to get in the bath and now he basically wants to stand most of the bath. It takes forever to get him to sit in the water. Whether i use baby bath or actual tub.

Mine did that not too long ago. It was completely out of the blue. It got to the point I had to get in the bath with her and hold her to show her it was safe and she was okay. She’s been fine with baths ever since. (Only got in twice). Maybe try that? It worked for us

I always got in with my son but I hold him n his father washes him since birth but now we want him to swim a little and splash around so I don’t get in much and he hasn’t been scared but once his dad was handing him down to me and he did a special yell of being scared because I think he thought his daddy was dropping him my poor baby

Thanks all! I will try getting in the bath with her and see how that goes. She loved taking a bath and splashing. I really don't know what changed.
